@CEO_Maharashtra Dear sir,
It is observed that even if name is mapped few BLO are asking/insisting photocopy of passport. Few BLO s are asking/insisting to fill up form 2A & 2B part in Marathi by voters.
Please clarify the same & oblige.
Warning: This is a nerd post. 😄
Over the last few weeks, like every year, I’ve been tracking rainfall across Mumbai, reservoir levels, and how long it actually takes for rain to show up as water in our lakes.
Turns out, the relationship isn’t nearly as straightforward as I thought.
Today’s rain doesn’t necessarily become today’s water.
Obviously it’s the rain over the catchments, not the city, that matters (apart from Tulsi and Vehar) but even then, the reservoirs often respond a few days later…
Here’s my first attempt at putting that story into a single infographic.
20-Year-Old Issue Resolved - Maharashtra to get 10 TMC of Narmada Water
Attended a meeting chaired by Hon Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amitbhai Shah, along with Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav ji, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel ji, Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma ji and Union Minister C. R. Patil ji, where a historic consensus was reached on the Narmada project.
Maharashtra will now receive 10 TMC of water, as Gujarat agrees to provide 5 TMC through the Narmada–Tapi Diversion and 5 TMC from the Ukai Project.
This landmark decision will significantly benefit Nandurbar and North Maharashtra region.
Also significantly Maharashtra's financial liability has been reduced to just ₹27 crore only, while all remaining dues and long-pending inter-state disputes have been resolved.
My heartfelt gratitude to Hon PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji for his constant support and visionary leadership and to Hon Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amitbhai Shah for his guidance and steadfast efforts in making this historic consensus possible.

"In 1999, Pramod Mahajan proposed the NCP+BJP+SS alliance to form a government. But Balasaheb refused. He said not to betray the anti-Congress public mandate. His son did the exact opposite 20 years later. That's a Gaddar in my book."

A little bit of good news today.
After days of heavy rain in the catchments, we’re finally seeing it translate into reservoir storage. Mumbai’s seven lakes are now at 8.12% of total capacity, up from 7.18% yesterday.
We’re still a long way from where we were this time last year (43.46%), but this is the kind of steady daily progress we’ve been waiting to see.
As always, we’ll keep tracking it every morning - not just how much it rains, but how much of that rain actually makes its way into Mumbai’s water supply!
See you tomorrow with the next MMI.
Who will blink first will be the real story of current wars........

And if people complain too much, the “action heroes” come out of their AC cabins, demolish 2 tapris for reels, upload dramatic videos with background music and disappear back into their AC offices waiting for the next public outrage.
His name is Venkat.
He left Vijayawada at 24 with an engineering degree and a job offer in Toronto.
His parents stayed behind in the house where he grew up. A two bedroom flat his father had bought in 1987 on a government salary saved over fifteen years.
For twelve years Venkat sent money home every month. He visited when he could. His parents grew older. His father’s health declined.
Then one morning his mother called. His father was gone.
Venkat booked the first flight back. He handled the funeral. He stayed for a month.
Before he left he went to the bank to transfer his father’s fixed deposit into his mother’s name.
The bank asked for a Succession Certificate.
He did not know what that was.
A Succession Certificate is a court issued document that authorises a legal heir to claim the deceased’s financial assets.
Without it no Indian bank will release funds, transfer accounts or allow access to deposits.
The court process includes a mandatory 45 day public notice period. It can take 6 to 18 months.
Legal fees can run into several lakhs depending on the value of the assets.
Venkat had to fly back to Canada. His mother was alone.
His father’s savings sat frozen in a bank account she could not touch.
This happens to thousands of NRI families every year.
Here is what Venkat wished his father had done.
One. Created a registered Will naming his wife and son as heirs. A registered Will avoids the Succession Certificate process entirely for most assets.
Two. Updated nominations on every bank account, fixed deposit, insurance policy and mutual fund. A valid nomination allows the nominee to claim assets directly without any court process.
Three. Kept scanned copies of all property documents. The sale deed, encumbrance certificate and property tax receipts. Courts and registrars ask for all of them.
There is no inheritance tax in India. What you inherit is not taxed. Tax only applies if you later sell the inherited property and capital gains arise.
As an NRI you have the full legal right to inherit property in India. The law is not the problem. The paperwork is.
One conversation with your parents today can save months of grief later.
Save this. Share it with every Indian you know who is living abroad.
