कुठल्याही दबावाला बळी न पडणारे आणि प्रामाणिक असे अधिकारी DGCA मध्ये बोटावर मोजण्याएवढेच आहेत, ज्यामध्ये फैज अहमद किदवई साहेबांचा समावेश होतो, तर दुसरीकडे VSR सारख्या बोगस कंपन्यांना पायघड्या घालणारे मनीष कुमार, श्वेता सिंग यांच���यासारख्या भ्रष्ट अधिकाऱ्यांची DGCA मध्ये अजिबात कमतरता देखील नाही.

विमान मंत्र्यांचा विरोध डावलून स्पेशल ऑडिटच्या माध्यमातून VSR ची चार LEARJET विमाने ग्राऊंड करण्याचा निर्णय किदवई यांनी घेतला होता. VSR ला मदत करणाऱ्या अधिकाऱ्यांच्या बदल्या होत नाहीत, पण दुसरीकडं मात्र मंत्र्यांचं न ऐकणारे, VSR ला न जुमानणारे किदवई साहेबांसारख्या प्रामाणिक अधिकाऱ्याची आज बदली होते हे मात्र दुर्दैवच म्हणावं ���ागेल. DGCA चे नवे प्रमुख कसे आहेत माहीत नाही, परंतु किदवई यांची झालेली बदली बघता, केंद्रीय विमान उड्डाण मंत्री VSR शी असलेले आपले व्यावहारिक संबंध टिकवण्यासाठी पूर्ण ताकदीने आणि प्रामाणिकपणे प्रयत्नांची पराकाष्ठा करत आहेत, हे मात्र नक्की!

Only a handful of officers in the DGCA remain truly honest and resistant to pressure — among them is Mr. Faiz Ahmed Kidwai. On the other hand, there is no shortage of corrupt officials like Manish Kumar and Shweta Singh, who appear to facilitate dubious companies like VSR.

Defying the Civil Aviation Minister, Kidwai took the bold decision to ground four Learjet aircraft of VSR through a special audit. While officials who allegedly supported VSR face no action or transfers, it is deeply unfortunate that an upright officer like Kidwai — who refused to bow to pressure — has been transferred.

It is unclear how the new DGCA chief will function, but considering Kidwai’s transfer, it strongly appears that the Union Civil Aviation Minister is making every effort to protect and maintain vested interests linked to VSR.
