It’s reported that this woman is the granddaughter of Protestant theologian Johannes Vlaardingerbroek. Some people are asking, why did she and her father choose to enter full communion with the Catholic Church?

Well, we’d have to ask her. But let’s ask a broader question: Why do Protestants cross the Tiber?

The fact is, the so-called Reformation was not a reformation at all but a revolution. It is self-evident from its outset that it reduced the Word of God to every man’s opinion, a problem which continues today. The phrase “Protestant Reformation” is an English Protestant term which does not accurately reflect its historical context nor its present outcome.

Catholics acknowledge that there were problems among the members of the Church in the 16th century. However, when a plate is dirty, you don’t smash it. You wash it.

If you’re in love with the truth of God’s divine revelation contained in the scriptures, the only solution to today’s chaos and confusion is full communion with the Catholic Church, for she alone has the Spirit-guided power to infallibly interpret the scriptures. The fact is, Protestants cannot agree on the nature of baptism and the other sacraments, divorce, sin, what the Church is, and even the nature of salvation itself. They turn to one "leader" after another, each of whom says something different, and each of whom claims for himself to be an authority on God’s word.

This chaos is not the work of God. It began as the work of men who jettisoned the Church and divorced themselves from the Christian Fathers who came before them. These men set out on their own new path.

Why cross the Tiber? Because truth matters. If we love Christ, we must too love what’s true, not simply read the Bible and decide for ourselves what it means according to our own wishes.

You’re baiting a false narrative, namely that subsequent developments in linguistics make “he” a definitive translation and then you somehow ascribe some nefariousness to original translations.

This isn’t accurate and I’ll cite a source that you have apparently pointed yourself earlier:

“What’s the origin of the difference? Well, the original Hebrew of the passage allows for either reading; the gender is simply ambiguous, and allows for a he, she, or it reading.“

In the ultimate sense, Christ did crush the serpent’s head and was struck himself by the serpent, both.aspects of his death on the Cross. Simeon had prophesied to her that “a sword will pierce through your own soul also,” a prophecy that was fulfilled when Mary saw her Son hanging from the cross (John 19:25–27). Thus Jesus directly crushed the serpent and was directly struck by the serpent, while Mary indirectly crushed it and was indirectly struck by it due to her cooperation in becoming the mother of Christ. 
The fact both readings express theological truths is something Catholics have long noted.”
