comprehensive pvp writeup 2023 edition
Destiny will never be balanced, but at the very least, we should encourage and reward fast-paced gameplay, skill (of all levels), and promote improvement. This isn't going to touch on reward structure, maps, modes, or ways to encourage people to improve.
Full details are included below, but here are the big key points:
- Slight buff to 140s (improve stats on former 150s like Waking), give them the Lightweight Frame
- Rethink the Thorn catalyst, it doesn't need that much of a buff and it'll inevitably get nerfed.
- Reduce flinch on primaries as a whole
- Slight buff to shotgun consistency
- Nerf precision weapon bodyshot damage as a whole and reduce aim assist/bullet mag
- Make in air feel the same on all weapons as it did pre AE w/ Icarus or scrap AE entirely
- Universal health(?), Resil should only decrease flinch taken.
- Intellect should only increase the amount of super energy gained from kills, not change super cooldown (at least in pvp)
- Checkmate is almost perfect, give people special off spawn in survival/dominion to reduce snowball effect
- Disable artifact rows 4/5 inside of PvP or at least comp/trials
- Reduce hunter dodge cooldown or keep the cooldown but add the ability to remove tracking on dodge again.
- Rifts and Restoration healing effects should be cancelled upon getting shot, restarts after an ICD or something. Rifts shouldn't give an OS inside of PvP.
- Reduce potency of Well (and bubble). I'm not sure why it gives healing/damage instead of just one.
- Barricades shouldn't begin recharging inside of pvp until the barricade disappears or is destroyed. Another route could also be increased barricade cooldown as it takes damage.
- Knockout requires a melee charge to proc.
- Bastion needs to be changed inside of pvp, gaining an overshield off a barricade will realistically never be balanced, at most make it a one time effect that only applies behind the barricade. OS for free doesn't work in PvP.
