Mr. Nishikant Dubey, the Member of Parliament from Jharkhand, made a false assertion in Lok Sabha by stating that the Central government had provided funding of Rs. 86,000 crores for the construction of Kaleshwaram project in Telangana.

Contrary to Mr. Dubey's claim, the Kaleshwaram project's construction in Telangana stands as a testament to the state government's dedication, relying solely on its internal resources and acquired loans. The Central government has not contributed any financial support towards the Kaleswaram project.

On 22nd July, 2021, Mr. Bisweshwar Tudu, the Union Minister of State for Water Resources (Jal Shakti), while addressing a query in the Lok Sabha regarding Telangana's water projects, affirmed that the Kaleshwaram project's establishment would draw entirely from the resources of the Telangana State government.

The statement made by the BJP MP, claiming that the Central government allocated Rs. 86,000 crores for the Kaleshwaram irrigation project, is entirely inaccurate. It is indeed regrettable that the honorable MP chose to deliver a misleading speech containing incorrect information.

Furthermore, in an unfortunate oversight, The online news platform @way2_news incorrectly identified Jharkhand's BJP MP, Nishikant Dubey, as a Union Minister while reporting on his remarks on the Kaleshwaram Project.
