With 45% share in the global production of tractors and over a million units sold in 2022, #India boasts as world’s largest market for tractors in which #UttarPradesh is playing very crucial role. A round table discussion - 'EV Revolution: Accelerating E-Tractor Manufacturing and Adoption' was held today in New Delhi to brainstorm the possibilities of transformation of this ecosystem.

Shri Anuruddha Kshatriya, General Manager - Investment Promotion and Shri Amit Kumar Mishra, Assistant General Manager - EV Policy from #InvestUP also participated in this session. The avenues for subsidies under #UPGoverment, state’s potential in E-Tractor #manufacturing and #development of #EV #charging #infrastructure in remote villages and at farm-rich locations were discussed in details.

The Original Equipment Manufacturers (#OEMs) suggested the government to bring E-Tractor manufacturing also under the subsidies and exemptions available for other electric vehicles, to enhance access to the bank finances and other funding opportunities; as well as the possibilities of monetary assistance by banks or financial institutions to encourage farmers to purchase E-Tractors over the traditional ones. Measures to encourage the adoption of E-Tractors through the cooperative based model were also discussed.
