2023 WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS: OGUN IS NO SAFE HAVEN FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKERS – OGSG
The Ogun State Government has reiterated that Ogun State will not be inhabitable for human traffickers as their antics to human exploitation will continuously be exposed
by its formidable Taskforce.
This statement was made known in a press release signed and made available to newsmen on Sunday July 30, 2023, by the Coordinator of Ogun State Taskforce on Human Trafficking, Oloye Akolawole Shoremi, in commemoration of the 2023 World Day against Trafficking in Persons held every July 30.
Recounting this year’s theme as “Reach every victim of trafficking, leave no one behind”, Shoremi revealed that “Leaving no one behind” is a transformative promise of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals.
According to the release, the Taskforce is a coordination of technical inter –agency cooperation meetings with key Stakeholders, Law Enforcement Agencies, MDAs, and CSOs which remains committed to enhance comprehensive prevention of human trafficking, coordinated legal and other services for the support and protection of Victims of Trafficking.
“In line with the commitment of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, to
continuously synergize and strengthen efforts against socio-economic issues that are
either conducive or instrumental to aid trafficking of persons, Ogun State Government recently concluded administrative process on the allocation of an operational base to the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP),” Shoremi hinted.
“Ogun State being a source, transit, and destination point requires every positive synergy to combat the causes and implications of human trafficking, and to encourage and promote safe migration pathways by proffering people-oriented solutions irrespective of economic differences.
“We are thereby confident that the presence of NAPTIP in Ogun State will enhance the ongoing efforts of the State Taskforce in ridding our communities of any form of modern slavery and brain drain,” he said.
A 5-man Delegation of the Taskforce is also scheduled to join other States Delegates in Abuja today Sunday July 30, 2023 in global response to building a coordinated network of both State and non-State Actors across the country. The one-week event will also witness the celebration of the 20th year anniversary of NAPTIP.
The World Day against Trafficking in Persons is billed for commemoration in Ogun State on August 9, 2023.

International Children's Day 2024 Organized by NYCN Odeda Chapter.
I had the privilege and honour to represent the State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria Ogun State Chapter, Oloye Akolawole Shoremi, at the International Children's Day 2024 organized by
Our Ogun State Focal Point, Omozele Umoren and her team had an insightful meeting with Comrade Akolawole Shoremi, State Chairman of the National Youth Council, Ogun State Chapter yesterday a few days ago.
The discussion revolved around five key areas crucial for youth...
I’m deeply honoured to have been named Outstanding Youth of the Year 2025 (New Media) by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun State Chapter.
The award was presented at the 2026 International Youth Day event on August 27 at the June 12 Cultural Center in Abeokuta, but I was unavoidably out of town and couldn’t receive it personally.
Yesterday, I finally received it at the NYCN Ogun State Secretariat.
Recognition like this is both an honour and a responsibility. I’m grateful for this, and I remain committed to using my voice and platform to contribute meaningfully to Ogun State.
I sincerely appreciate the State Chairman, Oloye Akolawole Shoremi, for his exceptional leadership, as well as the State Secretary, Dotun Opaleye (Zamora) @orladhortun.
Special thanks to you all who made this possible. This recognition is as much yours as it is mine.
Thank you 🙏.
The idea dat our security agencies re doing notin is naked false. We could rightly castigate, condemn selfish politicians n security heads, but disregarding the sacrifices of our security agencies is absolutely disgraceful; They’re sacrificing for us to live!
#DefeatingTerrorism
I spent the last couple of years in activism & advocacy for youth inclusion. Today, I have decided to practice what I preached to bring you #TheChangeYouveBeenWaitingFor. I am running for @AmacLg
When I was at Adeniji police station, the police officers took turns to beat me up. They were even calling themselves to come and beat ‘Mr Macaroni’
They said in my life when next I hear police, I will run! One said if not that people would ask about me, he would have killed me.
