Today, our Y3 mathematicians were learning new strategies to divide. They used base ten and place value grids to show how to divide a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number by partitioning the value that is being divided. Well done for your excellent collaboration & problem solving!

Inca Explorers finished off their Night Navigator Destination with some incredible science. We found out about how the force of gravity is different on other planets. We decorated crisp tubes before filling them with sand to see how heavy they would be to lift.
Mount Everest Explorers have been learning about citizenship as part of the 'Good Neighbour' destination. They have been thinking about how they want to make an impact on the world: "I want to be a clothes maker to make clothes for people who do not have clothes." Jamelia Y2.
Inspired by the wonderful drawings made by the earliest artists on cave walls, Y1 explored the ways in which they could make marks, lines and different tones using charcoal and chalk. They rubbed & smudged, pressed hard and very lightly, and even used a rubber as a drawing tool.

Our Y6 artists worked as sculptors today. Inspired by Henry Moore's Shelter drawings, they imagined figures sleeping in the underground. Some really touching results! #art#history
The children had the chance to visit our beautiful new library this week. The whole school community is very grateful to Jacqui for all her hard work in turning it into such a beautiful space. We are looking forward to inviting parents in to read with children after half term.
Year 5 held an exhibition to celebrate their Ancient Greek pottery. Families were invited to see the culmination of a 5-week project where every child created their own autobiographical pot. The children have been copying the style of artist Grayson Perry & his coiling technique.
