The administration is talking about banning Chinese open-source AI models, acting like it would hurt China.
China isn’t worried. They’re reportedly considering putting export controls on their own open-source models so American companies can’t use them.
So who actually loses in this scenario?
If American companies lose access to much cheaper, high-performing Chinese open-source models and are forced to use our frontier labs that cost 50-100x more - while also losing the ability to control their own model weights and having to worry about their proprietary data getting stolen - then who really gets hurt here?
Word on the street is that OpenAI stock can’t be borrowed against at a 94% discount.
That means if you held $10 million worth of OpenAI shares and tried to get even a $400k loan against it, lenders are saying no. It’s a clear signal of how shaky people currently view OpenAI’s position.
Seemingly because Sam Altman has made too many powerful enemies - Elon, Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon.
He just survived one public execution (the nonprofit-to-corporation conversion case that got tossed on statute of limitations). Now he’s facing a new one from Apple, which just sued OpenAI for allegedly stealing trade secrets and hardware-related confidential information to build its own devices.
The only way to protect a technology this disruptive from being killed by incumbent establishments is public momentum so large it becomes politically impossible to suppress.
Ripple survived because highly engaged stakeholders from all walks of life went hard in the paint, and made it politically challenging to mess with.
Quantum energy needs the same thing. It needs so many people aware of it, invested in it, and demanding it that no amount of lobbying, litigation, or regulatory sabotage can put it back in the box.
We have to ape this into existence. Because if we wait quietly, it will most certainly get buried.
Share this. Talk about it. Don't let it be quiet enough to kill.
💸 Age verification is the cover story. A national digital ID embedded in every device is the goal. @austinsteinbart says once it connects to CBDC, they control everything.
AI is going to rewrite every industry, eliminate millions of jobs, and give governments unprecedented power over their citizens.
The political frameworks we're using were built for the 20th century. They cannot handle what's coming.
We need to reengineer the operating system of the republic — not tweak it. Not reform it. Reformat it. Nobody else is thinking at this scale. We are.

Netanyahu intentionally installed Hamas and funded them for years so he could prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state.
