THANK YOU, LAGOS ISLAND - THREE YEARS OF SERVICE, IMPACT & PROGRESS

Today, as I mark three remarkable years of representing the people of Lagos Island Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, I do so with profound gratitude to Almighty God, immense appreciation to our leaders, and heartfelt thanks to the resilient and supportive people of Lagos Island.

These three years have been defined by purposeful representation, community-driven interventions, strategic empowerment programmes, and a steadfast commitment to improving the quality of life of our people. Together, we have transformed campaign promises into tangible achievements and impactful initiatives across our constituency.

From education to youth empowerment, healthcare, social welfare, infrastructure support, community engagement, and economic relief programmes, our administration has remained focused on delivering sustainable development to every ward and community within Lagos Island Constituency 1 in various listed areas below:

EDUCATION SUPPORT INITIATIVES

Education remains one of the strongest pillars of our developmental agenda.

Over the past three years, thousands of students have benefitted from our annual Back-to-School Support Programme through the distribution of educational materials, school bags, uniforms, writing materials, and learning kits.

In addition, hundreds of indigent students across the constituency received free JAMB and GCE registration forms, helping them pursue higher education and brighter futures.

LIGHT UP LAGOS ISLAND SOLAR PROJECT

Through our Light-Up Lagos Island Solar Campaign, several streets, inner roads, public spaces, and community corridors have been illuminated with solar-powered streetlights.

This initiative has enhanced security, improved night-time economic activities, and contributed to a safer environment for residents and visitors alike.

OJA ASIWAJU (ASIWAJU'S MARKET) AND SENATOR OLUREMI TINUBU FOOD BANK

In response to prevailing economic realities and in line with our commitment to cushioning the effects of ongoing economic reforms, we launched the Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Ọja Asiwaju Food Bank.

This initiative has provided heavily subsidized food items to thousands of households across the constituency through multiple editions held in Olowogbowo, Oko-Faji, Isale-Eko, and other communities.

The programme continues to serve as a practical intervention aimed at supporting vulnerable residents and promoting food security at the grassroots level.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT & SOCIAL SUPPORT PROGRAMMES

Women remain critical stakeholders in our development agenda.

Our office has successfully implemented several empowerment initiatives including:

• Business support programmes for market women

• Financial assistance for widows and vulnerable women

• Skill acquisition and entrepreneurship training

• Distribution of grants and tools to support small businesses

• Welfare support for senior citizens and vulnerable groups

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT & EMPOWERMENT

Our commitment to youth development has resulted in the empowerment of hundreds of young people through:

• Digital and technology training programmes

• Vocational skill acquisition initiatives

• Entrepreneurship development schemes

• Startup support and mentorship opportunities

• Employment facilitation and career development programmes

We remain committed to preparing our youths for opportunities in the modern economy.

HEALTHCARE & COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Healthcare interventions have remained a priority.

My office has organized free medical outreach programmes, health screenings, and emergency support interventions for residents affected by disasters and unforeseen circumstances.

Throughout emergencies and community challenges, we have remained accessible and responsive to the needs of our people.

My dear constituents,

Watching families leave with full bags and fuller smiles reminds me why I wake up every single day committed to serving you.
