Newly elected Alaska MEC Chair Capt. Drew Coyle issued his first official message to the Alaska Airlines pilot group. As pilots navigate the merger joint contract negotiations and a new union leadership transition, he outlined a clear strategic vision for the pilot group.

As contract negotiations continue, we’re expanding outreach to connect pilots with MEC officers, reps, and committee volunteers ensuring their voices are heard on the merger, negotiations, and other key issues.
We mourn the loss of two Jazz Aviation pilots and hold in our thoughts those injured in an accident Sunday night at LaGuardia Airport.
Our heartfelt condolences are with the families, loved ones, and colleagues of the pilots, and we are thinking of all those impacted.
Alaska & Hawaiian MECs hosted pilot events in SEA & HNL to share negotiation updates and hear feedback. Progress has been made but talks have slowed as key issues remain. The union will continue providing opportunities for pilots to connect as negotiations reach a critical stage.

Today marks one year since Alaska and Hawaiian pilots began negotiating a JCBA with @AlaskaAir.
The union remains focused on securing a fair contract that delivers gains for both pilot groups. The next bargaining session with management is scheduled for Monday, March 2.

The MEC has elected four officers to lead more than 3,400 Alaska Airlines pilots during a critical period, including the final stages of negotiating a Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement with Alaska Airlines.
