Update on my cancer journey: I've lost ground, and the chemo isn't helping—it's only making things worse, ramping up the pain to a level only hospice can touch. Still holding steady with my usual supplements and protocol, because that's what feels right. But I'm done with the endless hospital loops—especially after last week's blood transfusion nightmare. No more. It's in God's hands now. Grateful for the ride, ready for peace. #CancerJourney #Hospice #FaithOverFear

There has been a sanitization of death and dying. Something better left to think about later in life. Much, much later in life. Not many people really know what goes on "behind the scenes."
My time working and studying in death care has made helped process such emotions that I had going into making the decision to go on hospice and truly feel at peace with choice.
@mjrsmith5@VivalaVida574@mrs_alyse You forget about this pesky little thing called "free will."
Plus, I'm sure offering pallative care in the loving arms of family in one piece is prefered over crushing the baby's skull and ripping it limb from limb.
Very much so. I'm in US thankfully or else MAID would encourage it.
Im at a point where traditional treatments are no longer and doing more harm to my body. My quality of life tanked.
The sad, unfortunate truth is that I have an extremely aggressive form of pancreatic cancer, making it extremely difficult to stay on top of it. It most certainly slowed everything down bc 3 years+ with PDAC is a miracle!
I am still able to continue the protocol as alternative treatments are allowed while on hospice. Signing up for a clinical trial would pull me from hospice. I can still reapply later if need be.
The biggest thing, while in active treatment, Im extremely limited to pain management options. Hardly anything. Both cancer and chemo are guilty of causing immense pain I'd just have to muddle through. On hospice, I'm able to reach much better pain relief. My quality of life has improved! I can enjoy the little things in life!
@berrysweetmum I mix people up all the time too! I think every mutual has a secret twin I mix them up with daily!
But yes! I ditched the witchcraft and cling now to Christ!
Last night, I was welcomed into the Catholic Church! It's been a journey, slowed by my health, but the priest expedited things so I could fully partake in the Sacraments. No fancy ceremony—just me, my sponsor, the priest, and my family in our living room. I expected a quick chat about the next steps, but in sweatpants, a bonnet, and with my pup barking, I was formally brought into the faith! #faithoverfear #hopeonhospice.
@ZeldaAGabriel Thank you so very much! Ngl, your posts are part of what kept reminding chemo brain over to keep working on it, even though my health wasn't that greatest. I kept going, slow, but I kept going!
@GarySanders5454 I dont get my emails frequently, sorry. I have been a bit a recluse lately with all that been going. My apologies if you felt as though I was ignoring. It certianly wasnt my intention!
@luinalaska I'm bookmarking this for when my almost 13yr old oulls nearly the nearly the same identical shit. Like why do they think our closet is and an extension of theirs?
