@thejournal_ie Contradictory reports emanating from vested interested campaign organisations versus reality is disturbing.
Despite millions continuously squandered, there's little success.
The lack of the most basic of counter actions, Opportunistic Educational Intervention, reflects this.
@irishexaminer Deeply disturbing and concerning
Now for due process
Generally It behoves all public representatives to be acutely aware of their example regarding alcohol consumption / promotion
Even well-intentioned people face serious questions when they break the law after consuming alcohol

@IrishTimes The truth is more likely to be two in three and both conditions are easily and frequently misdiagnosed.
And, of course, the most common go-to solution, alcohol, only makes them worse.
@irishexaminer With the greatest respect to the learned Judge, instead of theย "at least you are not getting hold of the demon drink," comment the defendant obviously needs alcohol intervention and a strongly suggested recovery plan.
This should be mandatory guidance for such cases
@IrishTimes "a video featuring an Irish comedian sitting on a wall in Connemara drinking a glass of poitin"
Perhaps you might also inquire into this excellent decision where basic cautions about the drug alcohol advertising appear to have been completely ignored?

@Annemarieward@JennyGilruthMSP There is a desperate need for adults to reenter the room.
And they need to consult with the real experts.
Same in Ireland for alcohol and other drugs.
@Independent_ie "Bar sales in Leinster House increased by 34pc to nearly โฌ445,000 last year"
Why would a tea / coffee shop and restaurant not suffice?
Any wonder why 40 years of reality-check efforts regarding alcohol fall on deaf ears?
We have loads of examples.
@SSB_Rick The vested interests of the alcohol industry, treatment providers, psychology and medical interests, NGO advocates and solo run gurus makes alcohol one of the greatest money spinners for millions.
That's what we're up against.
#liveline began today with a wonderful lady saying what many of us feel needs to be said about HSE dysfunction.
The topic was quickly sidelined in favour of GAA whinging, as if enough time isn't allotted to sport on RTE already.
@RayMcAdam It's a shame that attention has to be drawn to the lack of health warnings or promotions of help options in clips which are, in effect, ads for alcohol.
@stellaomalley3 Yes, strange how these places remain almost venerated.
No reference to the frequent domestic violence, child and family neglect, major accidents, patrons horrendous depression and anxiety associated with them.
One hopes that we've moved on, and yet, no health warnings on this.
@USAlcoholPolicy Shocking how basic myths around alcohol remain unchallenged, and the industry is basically given carte blanche.
There's need for a serious review of advocacy approaches and funding, as they have failed miserably.
