Well step one would be a currency which was allowed to appreciate to a fair market value. Perhaps you do not realize that the renminbi/yuan is kept at half its real value to (a) discourage Chinese purchasing of imports.. wow Western goods sure are expensive (b) encourage Chinese exports.. wow Chinese stuff sure is inexpensive in the West and (c) prevent capital flight from China.. wow we made all these profits as the Chinese factory owner and we only paid the Chinese workers a pittance so better stash the loot overseas.

@FirstSquawk Would need to be at least double this amount to realistically counter China. The extra money needs to be spent on a massive investment in ai controlled autonomous devices for air (drones), sea and land as well as the infrastructure to manufacture them by the millions.
