Prof Danny Altman, "In your work place, on your train, on your bus, chances are 1 in 30 people are coughing and spluttering covid all over you"
"If you become one of those people coughing and spluttering covid, you might be coughing it over a cancer patient, an immunosuppressed patient, somebodies granny. The consequence may be very dire"
This isn't from 2020, this is on Sky News this evening, in Dec 2023. As a country we can do so much more to protect ourselves from covid, instead, we keep letting it rip, people keep falling ill, every time more suffer the consequences of long covid, people are off work weakening our economy and services. How much longer will the cycle go on for being we treat covid more seriously, protect ourselves, protect each other, protect our services and our economy, and our society?
Thank you to the person who sent this to me. It's not Ironic. You never stated that "these words resonate" it's not in your original post, you are trying to make yourself the victim again. You are doing exactly what you said you don't want others to do, but to a Black woman. STOP

We urgently request that the Canadian Government do everything within its power to achieve an immediate ceasefire in #Gaza. Ending the indiscriminate violence is the only way to prevent more deaths and scale up desperately needed humanitarian assistance.
We encourage all those who are following the developments of the #CDB to fill out this survey from our friends at @Disability_WP .

After months of waiting we learned today @cityoftoronto has denied our #CafeTO patio at Bar Volo this year. We are disappointed by the news after having a patio for 3 years w. no issues. There needs to be more support for small businesses creating culture & community in our city!
I'm not a big patio guy myself, but even I thought the one at @barvolo was great. And given it's location on a low traffic alley, it's hard to see why it would be rejected after three safe years. Just one more example of the absolute clusterfuck the #CafeTO program has become. 🙄
Pierre Poilievre has launched a major campaign attacking Safer Supply drug programs & pushing Trudeau to scrap them & redirect funds to detox/rehab.
