We complain about scratches, especially late ones, but there were no fatalities during racing this meet.

That’s worth recognizing.

This motion hit the docket 4/3. It details a lot more of Kelsey Fitzsimmons violent, erratic history and details situations like Kelsey dropping her young son 2-3 feet from a bed onto the floor, and canceling the child's life-saving surgery out of spite towards his father. It also confirms that Justin Ayalian submitted to two hair follicle tests....and tested negative for all substances.
Fitzsimmons, however, immediately started drinking within hours of her SCRAM device requirement being lifted after her acquittal. It is clear the court ordered her to remain alcohol free for a reason.
Attacking the Ayalian family is reprehensible and must stop. Kelsey Fitzsimmons has historically been a danger to herself and others, and her utter inability to acknowledge her issues, instead electing to paint herself as a perpetual victim, leaves her in a bad position to be able to address them.

The Providence Police Department is saddened to share the passing of Mounted Command horse Thunder.

Thunder, 12, was born at Grant’s Farm in St. Louis and later donated to the department by McLaughlin and Moran, Inc.

Thunder proudly served the City of Providence and will be deeply missed, especially by his partner, Officer Jose Mendez.

I love country music more than any other music but there was no way I was taking a part in the segregated Halftime show yesterday.

I don’t know Spanish or Bad Bunny’s music but I’ve watched whoever performed in the Super Bowl with excitement each year, especially when I didn’t know someone’s music (Kendrick Lamar is another great example of this).

Part of the Super Bowl is the entire spectacle, from the pre show, to the anthem, to the game, and of course to the Halftime Show.

It will always be the biggest of artists during that time.

I’ve also come to accept that as I get older, the music might get lost on me as I age, which it has. However, I will always try and support whomever is performing on the world’s biggest stage.

I absolutely HATE that the majority of the alt-Halftime show were country music artists. Artists I’ve met, paid to see, and own most of their music. But they took part in what I see as segregation. Also, a participation trophy if you will (being that none of those artists would ever be a great enough act to dawn the world’s largest stage)

They didn’t have an alt halftime show for any other reason than hate. Hate for a culture they don’t know, hate for a language they don’t speak, and hate for a man with color, truly unnecessary hate for an American man that made it from nothing all the way to the top.

A true American dream came to fruition yesterday and I’m sad for those that didn’t take part of it because either their politics, hate, or refusal to grow culturally. It couldn’t just be because of the music, because I too love country music. I just love my fellow human beings more.

I find these posts rather amusing — these grand declarations about how veterinarians must communicate with trainers what they’re seeing, as if that’s the missing key to unlocking the mysteries of equine lameness. It’s nonsense, really. You can look at a horse and know they’re off — anyone with a half-trained eye can see it — but knowing why? That’s a far more intricate puzzle. Could be a foot. Could be a knee. Could be an ankle. Could be something entirely else. It’s not immediate, not obvious, and certainly not as simple as these self-proclaimed experts would have you believe.
These posts, in truth, only betray one thing — how little people understand about the subtle art of detecting unsoundness. You don’t know the cause right away. You simply know something’s wrong. That’s the nature of it. Always has been.

To the Regulatory Vets: Thank you for making the #BreedersCup as safe as possible for all participants despite being under a microscope possibly more intense than the horses you were looking at.

To Breeders Cup and Racing Commissions: Please make a change to your nomination, entry, and ownership forms to allow for owners to give permission for all vet records on a horse (including those of the regulatory vets) accessible to the public.

To horse owners: Please allow for the sharing of all veterinary records for horses you own with the public to be able to put to rest any questions about exactly what has been found/done and not found/done.

To those who feel regulatory vets are incompetent: There is a great shortage of equine veterinarians in this country. Please apply to vet school, graduate, and then apply for one of the many regulatory vet positions that are sitting open and available at racetracks everywhere.
