Recently, I met a friend from the Philippines who happened to get an arranged marriage proposal from an Indian guy, and she was shocked to know how two unknown people can just get married. (Maybe because divorce is a taboo for them)

I asked her, "How does it work in their country's culture?" She said we meet a person, date or live with them for 2-3 years, and marry only if things go well; otherwise, we don’t.

Now that we are hearing so many cases on the internet nowadays, I feel we should make it mandatory for couples to date for a minimum of 2 years if they met via an arranged setup. This will solve many things. Because however hard you try, or do strong background check upto 9 levels of connections, such things will keep happening. The real character of person comes out when they live with you for sometime, relatives and friends always lie in background checks.
