Today, we announced the launch of our new Counter-Terrorism Security Unit and increasing high-visibility deployments in key areas across the city. These steps are not tied to a specific-threat — they’re about prevention, readiness, and keeping our communities safe.

We have a heavy police presence in the downtown area today and our officers will be making arrests for anyone breaking the law.
Interfering with officers performing their duties or engaging in violence or any criminal behavior will not be tolerated.
Our priority is ensuring public safety. We have a significant number of police on the ground downtown to respond to any acts of violence or criminal activity.
If you engage in criminal behavior, you can expect to be arrested and charges to be laid.
The 33 Division Crime Prevention Expo is back! Join us April 29 from 2–7 PM at the Toronto Botanical Garden for an afternoon focused on community safety, crime prevention, & well-being. Learn about valuable resources that help keep our neighbourhoods safe.
One of our volunteers hosted a Crime Prevention table at a local Shoppers Drug Mart- engaging shoppers on trending crimes, prevention tips, & the correct way to report different incidents. Community awareness helps keep our neighbourhoods safe. #CommunitySafety#CrimePrevention

There is no such thing as a “routine” traffic stop.
Every stop carries the unknown. On February 19, that unknown resulted in the seizure of 90 kilograms of cocaine and an arrest. Our officers approach every interaction prepared, alert, & committed to community safety.
Meet New Deputy Chief Frank Barredo.
With nearly 40 years of service with Canada’s largest municipal police service, Deputy Chief Barredo brings one of the most operationally diverse careers the Toronto Police Service has seen — and a perspective shaped as much by his life as by his career.
