Driver decided to play chicken with our bus today. Miraculously NO collision, no one hurt. We have advice on so many levels with this one, but here's the most important: PUBLIC TRANSIT DRIVERS DO A DIFFICULT JOB AND DESERVE RESPECT AND REVERENCE.
Itβs time to take down the remaining portion of the Central Freeway, south of Market.
The removal of the Central Freeway north of Market was a huge success: energized Hayes Valley/Octavia, more housing, revolution in public space.
Letβs keep this going. https://t.co/zLXe2EbE4b
@michelletandler But why let the data slow you down when you can just extrapolate your anecdotal experience in a stream of consciousness Twitter thread? π€
@michelletandler Imagine lacking the self-awareness to even consider that your network of friends might not be representative of broader national trends...
@Appyg99 Sounds like working away from home is better for you - personally I'm the same way - but this is clearly not true for everyone. Many are happier and more productive WFH. This kind of generalization is at best unhelpful, at worst yet another onramp to moralizing work.
@J_LaRosa415 Both these modest reforms are opposed by Manchin & Sinema. π So the de facto state of affairs is that legislation requires 60 yea votes, in the room, to pass (excepting reconciliation bills).
@J_LaRosa415 Simple proposed reforms include A) return to the talking filibuster, force minority to hold the floor to prevent cloture, or B) put the onus on the minority to provide 40 votes to *prevent* cloture so they have to stay in the room.
@michelletandler This is a truly galaxy brain take. The proposed new budget has nearly the highest ever funding for SFPD, despite population outflow. You're just making things up now, Michelle.
@michelletandler Quite a feat of mental gymnastics to decry state mandates, arguing that establishments should be allowed to set their own rules, and then...get upset when an establishment sets its own rules.
