Anyone else remember this one? Providence vs. Boston College in the TD Garden a few years after the Eagles jumped to the ACC.
Weyinmi Efejuku with the late heroics for the Friars and Greedy Peterson adds the exclamation point. From December 2007:
The Georgetown Ed Cooley Era Tournament is here!
To celebrate Coach Cooley’s first three seasons on the Hilltop, I"ve put together a bracket featuring the most memorable Hoyas from the Cooley era, so far (this does not include new transfers for this upcoming season)
From freshmen stars to transfer standouts, only one player can be crowned the face of Georgetown Basketball’s Ed Cooley era.
Voting begins tomorrow.
🔮 WAY TOO EARLY 2026-27 GEORGETOWN PREDICTIONS 🔮
Record: 22-10
Big East: 11-9
Big East Finish: 5th
NCAA Tournament: ✅
Projected Seed: 8/9
The backcourt talent is the best Georgetown has had in years with Jaland Lowe, Elmarko Jackson, Kayvaun Mulready, and Vyctorius Miller leading the way.
The biggest questions remain in the frontcourt. How quickly can Chol Machot develop? Will Georgetown add more size? And can this roster find enough consistency defensively?
Can Justin Caldwell carve out a major role as a freshman and provide much needed frontcourt depth?
And what should expectations be for Athan “AJ” Olivier, one of the biggest wild cards on the roster heading into next season?
I think the Hoyas are finally back in the NCAA Tournament conversation and have a legitimate chance to finish in the upper half of the Big East.
What’s your prediction?
@ZachCJewell@Kevin_Farrahar I for one am pretty excited that Kevin expanded. Kevin brought on @THarknessStats and now I get to learn about what’s going on with every other opponent without having to read Homer slop from those teams. The friar coverage is only going to be elevated now too
