What a disgrace. On one of the hottest days of the year, Governor Hochul is asking New Yorkers to use less electricity because our state simply doesn’t have enough reliable power to meet demand. That’s the result of years of misguided energy policies that have weakened our electric grid while driving utility bills even higher.
New Yorkers shouldn’t have to wonder whether the grid can handle the increased demand when they need air conditioning the most. We need an all of the above energy strategy that delivers reliable, affordable, and dependable power - not policies that leave our grid stretched to its limits during a heat wave and put seniors and those with underlying health conditions at risk.
We will not let Donald Trump mess with our Colorado elections. With our Constitutionally-granted state power to administer elections, Colorado takes running safe and secure elections very seriously and we are grateful for our hardworking county clerks and election volunteers. Colorado, the Centennial State, is proud of our strong history of election security and voting rights.
@KyleClark@DrewSav Agreed. And we’d have fewer extreme candidates + having to earn votes through ideas and debates would let our democracy function much better.
@davidslosttt Honestly; this is the kind of behavior exhibited by those backed into a corner. He knows in November he is toast but he hasn’t figured out how to navigate that. He’s definitely becoming more unhinged.
@shripal734@ShaneGoldmacher And historical precedence is usually (though not always) that later deciders break decisively against the party in power, so at this point, an 8 point swing is significant. Will be interesting to see what role (if any) the Iran ceasefire plays into future trends.
You didn’t follow the rules set before you. Not once, but multiple times. Are you surprised you were reprimanded? C’mon man. It’s like they were speaking to a child.
It is an absolute disgrace that Reps. Jayapal and Raskin would not even listen to the tragic story of Sheridan Gorman, a constituent of mine from Yorktown, who was senselessly murdered by an illegal immigrant protected by Democrats’ sanctuary policies.
Sanctuary policies have real consequences, and I will continue to fight to end them.
@DenverDad60@Acyn He also knows that his efforts to meddle in the Dem primary for his seat failed and now he is facing the candidate he did not want to face. So now he’s becoming more unhinged and is probably gonna lose in November.
@LurkerBored@RyanJakubowski Lastly, it’s worth saying I could be entirely wrong here. I just think that it’s going to be a pretty bad year for republicans that even the lowest quality democrats have a shot to squeak by, especially in a state like Maine. Bottom line - we will see!
@LurkerBored@RyanJakubowski I absolutely think these scandals would have sunk Platner 10-12 years ago. I am just not sure that is the case this time around. Not to mention it’s pretty easy now to frame Collins as a rubber stamp to Trump whereas in past terms she was exceptionally bipartisan.
