It speaks volumes about prevailing political culture of this country for last half century that a billionaire says this but has no reflection on his role or at least how they might have helped.
It’s a learned helplessness you don’t see from Chinese elites, for instance.
Sir Alex Ferguson 2012, Brendan Rodgers '14, Jose Mourinho '18, Jurgen Klopp '19 & '22, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer '21 & Mikel Arteta '23 all finished second in the PL without systematic cheating. Then there's cup finals.
They, their players and staff deserve justice and recognition.
Chelsea’s new front of shirt sponsor Circle is currently subject to a criminal complaint in Wisconsin relating to stolen crypto coins.
Its Trustpilot score is 1.2 out of 5.
Critics say Crypto companies seek legitimacy and normalisation by sponsoring institutions held in high regard such as football clubs.

12,000 firefighter jobs cut since 2010 (~20% reduction)
Response times to life-threatening fires slowed from 6.11 minutes in 1995 to 9.13 minutes in 2023
Govt should properly fund our fire service - perhaps with a frequent flyer tax?
This is going to get so much worse when millennials retire (home ownership rates have fallen).
It’s why keeping the triple lock, while not building social housing for retired pensioners in the rental sector, is completely incomprehensible to me.
@Dominic2306 I know you inherited your place in life Dom but for many of us, working hard and going to university is our only chance at making our lives better. Alas not everyone has the luxury of having privilege repeatedly mistaken for genius.
BREAK: https://t.co/eC7ZrJrVMW - the offshore gambling empire in which George Cottrell is involved - has shut down weeks after we revealed it was implicated in potentially criminal wrongdoing in the UK.
Its website now states: "We are sorry to announce the https://t.co/eC7ZrJrVMW brand is no longer operating"
Wow. All the chickens are coming home to roost. To everyone who believes the current story about Farage’s £ is magically different from the one I was destroyed over - & a large chunk of UK press remained completely silent about - please take a long hard look at yourself
The balls on these people.
The Tories, after 13 years, left a system in complete collapse. There were 100 spare places in the prison estate across England and Wales.
It was this (which is appalling) or the system keels over. Because of Kemi and her useless colleagues.
Why do Reform want to wipe out the savings of elderly citizens unlucky enough to get dementia?
Socialising elderly care is a PRO middle class policy. It's great @andyburnham is taking this on.
🚨🇺🇸 WATCH: President Trump has urged his supporters to “go and buy a Dell Computer”
The President has purchased around $5M worth of Dell shares in 2026 alone
Do the ends justify the means? If you win the war and lose yourself, what did you gain?
Sir Christopher Johnathon James Nolan, to call you a genius I would be downplaying your greatness
Nolan's framing of "Zeus' law" as the institutional foundation of a functional society, and what happens when that foundation is broken by men with an insatiable lust for power, wasn't lost on me.
Fitting for the time we are in.
When George Cotterell was imprisoned for money laundering back in 20116 Farage claimed he was an "unpaid volunteer" that he barely knew.
However, we now know Farage regards him as being "like a son"....
“Pep/City has a low net spend” — exposed for the billionth time
🔺City Football Group (CFG) sign Savinho through Troyes. He ends up on loan at Girona and does fantastic taking them to the CL. CFG then moves him to City for a shambolic €25m.
City strong arms the Premier League into accepting that Savinho’s market value was €25m. The PL accepted that Troyes (that owned him) couldn’t have received a penny more for Savinho if they had sold him to the highest bidder — despite Savinho being one of La Liga’s top performers and being what 20 y/o. Savinho more or less flops at City, like most their signings, played what 800 minutes last season in the PL.
City then sells him for €80m to Tottenham.
Last season, City sold academy products who barely had been close to the 1st team for €89m. Or close to the 1st team — most of them had barely been close to Manchester. Did Maxime Perrone ever live in Manchester? Did Yan Couto ever live in Manchester? Did they ever visit Manchester? They reduced City’s “net spend” with €33m.
🔺This illustrates the issue with Man City. They are the best run football club in the world in many way, at least in my opinion. But they are obsessed with — cheating — and can’t help themselves.
They don’t need to cheat to be successful, but they always do it to an absolute obscene extent. They could have put a £45m price tag on Savinho. It is a paper transaction. I hold an iPhone in my right hand right now. This transfer is like if I had sold my iPhone to my left hand. An intra group transaction.
And the establishment in England, the court system, the fancy journalists, have just given up. City have turned them into that Reek character in GoT, Theron Greyjoy.
“Pep is the greatest manager ever” according to Theron Grey… sorry Jamie Carragher. Lol Pep just got 78 pts despite spending £500m in transfer fees and absurd wages. The season before that he got 71 pts.
