@Samfr @JohnRentoul NL reduced rough sleeping, a fair bit to their credit, but never came close to eliminating it which is what Burnham pledged. The circumstances around lockdown were so unique to be unreplicable now anyway. Not sure where all the money would come from anyhow.

@Samfr @JohnRentoul It’s analogous in being something that sounds good and desirable, but is clearly undeliverable, as evidenced by Burnham’s failure to meet that pledge in Greater Manchester a decade from making it.

Doesn’t seem smart to make a big unachievable pledge like this as his first move.

@tomwhx @lucaajw No, the policy was to not actively increase migration by doing what the Tories did, such as creating new visa routes, loosening dependent restrictions, and lowering salary thresholds. The outcome was then to not have sky high migration like under the Tories.
