Happy to say our latest article is published! We found that tobacco use, professional dental cleaning habits, and lung adenocarcinoma are associated with lung and bronchial microbiome diversity and composition. https://t.co/mapKRQ2Z0p
Out now at ERJ Open Research: https://t.co/QyoHuf2jWj
Even during exacerbation-free periods, the COPD frequent exacerbator phenotype is associated with decreased sputum microbiome α-diversity and increased β-diversity. Low sputum α-diversity is associated with lung inflammation.

Back in my day, they were also (gasp) your internet connection.
(Channeling my mother, talking to an incredulous me in ~1999, explaining how all 40 women on her floor shared one phone located in the hallway)
My 3rd grader said that 17 of her 30 classmates were there today. She was 1 of 2 with a mask. Friend in a different room said attendance was 13/~30.
No idea if this is RSV, flu, COVID, or a combo.
We’re 3 years into a respiratory virus pandemic and have learned nothing.
@Ddrekonja @MPS_News@mnhealth What sort of things would they write into an illness contract, if sensible evidence-based things like masking and vaccination are off the table?
We know why influenza hasn't really circulated since March 2020--social distancing and masking. They could work again this year.
Hey @MPS_News I get that everyone wants to put COVID behind us, but please send better advice about a school-wide respiratory outbreak.
1. Masking mentioned only after less helpful strategies
2. COVID and flu vax not mentioned
3. @mnhealth data show RSV more likely than flu
@JulesBass6 Agree. It is just harder for me to read. Which is exactly the kind of thing you don’t want to do to a reviewer. I cannot understand why a grant writing course would recommend it, but many do.
