@MinovskyArticle Unless you're anti-Jodorowsky, which is understandable, his novels are worth reading. Albina and the Dog Men is surreal mysticism (my fave), and his other two books, Where the Bird Sings Best and Son of Black Thursday are similar to his recent autobio films.

@MinovskyArticle Idk if I'd call Hurricane Season a crime novel, but it is very good. People who liked that book often like the books of Roberto Bolano. Another cliched pick I have is 100 Years of Solitude, obv. You'd dig Mariana Enriquez's books too, for mysticism vibes

@_eebmaB I thought the story was well-told but I hate the theme of "the canon doesn't matter/is bad." To divorce these events from Spider-Man's history is to divorce him from "great power -- great responsibility," which to me is why the character has endured for so long.

@geagbuffalo @adlankj Good point! I don't think other folks see him that way, which influenced my wording. I think many see the rags to riches narrative, and the culture he created in the late 90s and early 2000s.
