NEWS: A new SpaceX filing shows Starship Flight 14 is coming and the booster will return to the launch site.
The details come from a public application SpaceX filed with the FCC, the US agency that manages radio frequencies.
In it, SpaceX asks to use extra frequencies to talk to the rocket during Test Flight 14, which launches from Starbase, Texas.
The filing states it plainly: "The 1st stage booster will return to the launch site."
That is the giant Super Heavy booster flying back home to be caught by the tower.
It fits what Elon Musk said on the recent earnings call. He said Flight 14 would also try to catch the Starship upper stage with the tower. He said it is tentatively set for the end of this month.

27 years ago, I chased a total solar eclipse across Europe. Tomorrow, it happens again. 🌑
On August 11, 1999, some friends and I got into a car and started driving.
No smartphone. No Google Maps. No live satellite images.
Just a paper map, terrible weather - and one goal: find a patch of blue sky before totality.
Somehow, somewhere in the French countryside, we made it.
I still remember those few minutes today.
And tomorrow, August 12, 2026, Europe gets another total solar eclipse.
This time the path of totality crosses Greenland, Iceland and northern Spain - and millions of people will have the chance to experience one of nature's most extraordinary spectacles.
I put together a short complete guide to the 2026 solar eclipse: where to see it, when it happens, what makes it special - and why you should never look at the Sun without proper eye protection.
Who here remembers the 1999 eclipse? And where were you when you saw it?

I’ve been trying to get people to train for 50 years, and I finally found the secret.
For my birthday sale, people who sign up for the Pump Club app at this link and train consistently all year will earn all their money back: https://t.co/qL6ECpWWYH
Fitness and nutrition programs that I guarantee. Weekly coaching calls with the best coaches. The most positive corner of the internet. For free?
Yes.
This is what I’ve learned:
You don’t give people the discount up front. If that worked, the gyms would still be packed in February.
You put the people in charge. You let them earn the discount - by training. We tested it. It worked. So we are revolutionizing the fitness industry.
At the Pump Club, you are in charge of what you pay. You have the power.
Going forward, everyone will earn $50 back for completing their first program of the year and $50 their fourth program - a $100 discount - just for training.
This week, for my birthday, the app is only $100. That’s right. Train all year, complete four programs, get all your money back.
Crazy? Yes. If it’s your kind of crazy, join us.
Bet on yourself, because I’m betting on you.
NEWS: Ron Baron says SpaceX will be the biggest company in the world by a wide margin
The Baron Capital founder said his firm expects to make 20 to 30 times its money from the IPO price over the next 10 to 15 years, with SpaceX reaching a 20 to 40 trillion dollar valuation. It went public at 2 trillion.
"This is a unique business. We think it's going to be 20 to 30 trillion dollar value, at least 40 trillion," Baron said.

Elon Musk on why SpaceX must think long term:
“I really just need to make sure that I can focus on the long term. By long term, I just mean five to ten years. One of the challenges with being a public company is the pressure to have great results every single quarter and to not really invest in things that may only pay off in full. And so I think it’s a good idea to invest in things that are going to pay off in five to ten years. In the case of SpaceX, I want to extend consciousness beyond Earth and have a growing civilization on the Moon, Mars, and elsewhere in the solar system. The return, I think ultimately, would be very high. But in the short term, we’ll be spending all this money on a Moon base or a Mars base, and then people are like, ‘Well, you missed your earnings this quarter because you spent too much on Mars.’ I’m like, ‘Yes.’”
