@HBKsQuaalude @theliamnissan misconception. The Confederacy generally burned positions they left to prevent its use by the Union. They expected the union to slow down to stop the fires... the Union simply let it burn with the intent to make the south repair it all.

@aelzn7 @PapayaMerchant @rishabhm The idea is to annihilate the munition before impact... a bullet is unlikely to detonate it before ground impact. There is a reason CIWS Fires 4k RPM to turn missiles and mortars into swiss cheese before impact.
