I will say this - LLMs are not replacing humans any time soon. I have experience in my domaim and know what to elicit from an LLM. I'm saving myself the hassle of typing 100K LoC every year. But if companies stop hiring young people, there will be a void in the pipeline and it will create havoc. "AI will replace SDEs" is a marketing gimmick. AI will make people more productive and result in more people writing more software. This non-hiring of juniors will be fixed soon enough.
India has an MoU with Indonesia to sell them the Brahmos missile. There isn't even a formal agreement yet.
And given Indonesia's extra curricular activities, I don't see the deal being consumated.
Reports of booth capturing, snatching of ballots, and other irregularities have been received from UP and Bihar during yesterday’s MLC elections. Electronic voting machines (EVM) were not issued in this election. Voters, mostly graduates and teachers, had to stamp the ballot paper and stuff it inside the ballot box.
Those who have been demanding nationwide elections through ballot papers, must have seen visuals of how booths were captured and ballots looted yesterday. However, this was on a scale much low compared to the dark days of Eighties and Nineties.
I covered several elections in UP and Bihar as a reporter. I was witness to scenes of 10 to 12 gunmen coming in vehicles, firing in the air to scare away the voters. The polling staff and lathi-carrying policemen used to hide in other rooms.
Gunmen used to snatch away ballots, merrily stamp them and stuff those ballots inside boxes. Polling used to be over within an hour. Voters waiting outside were told that polling is over.
There were no TV cameras at that time, nor did people have mobile phone cameras to record these acts. Hence, it was very difficult to collect “evidence”. Occasionally, some newspaper camerapersons used to take pictures, and when newspapers published them, there used to be a big hullabaloo. Repolling was held in such booths.
For the generation who have only seen the age of EVMs, they can hardly imagine how gangsters used to loot votes in those dark days. Such acts of booth capturing led to the rise of gangsters, mafia and hooligans in Indian politics. Later, gangsters themselves fought elections.
Thirty years ago, when EVMs were introduced in elections, the influence of ‘vote mafia’ gradually waned. Today, those who are demanding the return of ballot papers, must realize they will be taking the country back to that dangerous era which still gives goosebumps.

Why don't you actually sue the news channel?? Not enough people sue news channels peddling poorly researched news as the truth. Ideally those running the channel should be used till they are left with nothing but their 🩲 if they did something so shoddily.
How shameless can you get @Akshita_N . Your former Tihar return Journalist ran an entire show targetting me and Newsclick. Your hindi and English news channels targetted us for more than a month. You did the same with Riya चक्रवर्ती. The entire battery of Godi media Journos made and cast aspersions on me and Newsclick. But zero proof of either China agenda shows or tampering with the Indian Map. All if which was a part of the bjp driven propaganda . Allegedly बोलने गुनाह पर पर्दा डल जाता है? इतनी बेशर्मी आती कहाँ से है? किसी ने कहा Newsclick should sue this Govt ? You destroyed a platform based on lies . You froze their accounts . 100 plus people dependent for their livelihood on Newsclick had no jobs . Maximum still don't. ये बकवास आप कैसे बोल सकते हो? Journalist या BJP IT cell की कर्मचारी.
I go through the gates in Singapore and also in multiple other countries with an Indian passport. I've never had to enroll per se. Making people enroll explicitly is an unnecessary step, especially when you already have the biometrics of your citizens via Aadhar. That said, there is no excuse for the understaffing of immigration kiosks, especially at busy airports like BOM and DEL.
While people may have political and ideological differences with her and the Gandhi family, her losses have been grave. It's unimaginable to lose your partner so shockingly and abruptly. And that was preceeded by the loss of her mother in law, again in tragic circumstances. Sometimes it's easy to forget that our politicians are also human beings and deserve a measure of compassion and dignity in a personal capacity.
In a small Greek restaurant in Cambridge my journey of love began.
Rajiv and I created a world filled with love, laughter and memories. On 10th November, I share that world with you.
Singapore will find other sources of NatGas, but this is not a great look for Indonesia, especially given the circumstances. Hopefully these frictions go away as they don't make any sense in the longer term.
For the first time, we're seeing FPIs invest into indian equity mutual funds - around 10,000 cr. this month already. They've sold around 48,000 cr. in equity holdings though, but at least some of it gets offset with equity MF buying.
HFT in equity options is down because retail has bugged out (various reasons here, STT is one of them, but increased margin requirements and larger lot sizes are the main driver). Retail is now taking to commodity options and MCX has now overtaken CME options volume.
I don't think there is a distaste per se, but there has been a steady outflow of PnL from retail to large MMs over the last 5 years and for whatever reason SEBI and GoI feel a need to stem that. I wish they would just do us their energy on fixing the equities market. There is so much low hanging fruit there. Biggest problem remains the distaste for leverage for anyone - even institutional players. The primary issue there seems to be an inability to recover money from defaulters. Given the state of our insolvency processes, I don't envy financiers
"Show me one piece of evidence. If you can prove foreign funding, I will give up the argument."
@sardesairajdeep challenges the panel to produce concrete proof that the protests under discussion received money from abroad. The debate turns on a fundamental question: should allegations of foreign funding be treated as fact before the evidence is established? In a democracy, suspicion and proof cannot be interchangeable.
