This is his wife so I’m not gonna think too much into this, but…

It absolutely is possible that Man of Tomorrow could be Gunn’s best movie. And I’ve been thinking that for a while.

The cast here for this film is undeniably the best cast he’s ever worked with in his entire filmography.

Brainiac could easily be his best villain ever, or second to Lex.

He’s honestly got some great plot material and iconography to work with that could make this a huge sci fi blockbuster if utilizing its full potential.

As much as I will miss Henry Braham, Sam McCurdy is undeniably an incredible cinematographer. I don’t quite love how Gunn utilized him in Peacemaker, but if he’s willing to tap into this man’s full potential through the lens of Superman and his world? That could be incredible.

Though most importantly, this seems to be a story that he’s very passionate about- especially through the eyes of Lex Luthor who he writes perfectly (damn near Elliot S! Maggin level perfect). I love Superman (2025) but you can easily tell that Gunn was holding back ALOT and felt pressured throughout. This feels like he really has the hang of it now and is coming in more ambitious and creator driven, which is when he’s operating at his very best.

The only thing I worry about is the large number of players in this movie. This is twice the amount of super from his last movie to the point of bordering on a proto Justice League film, which will kinda be new territory for Gunn and could potentially detract from a focused narrative.

Nevertheless, I’m super excited for this movie. Easily my most anticipated for next year.
