Our latest work on #offshorewind in the ICES Journal of Marine Science. https://t.co/AdoiHASsfD
Static magnetic fields associated with some subsea cables reduce swimming activity of fish larvae. #cod#haddock. @HBrowman @Havforskningen @ICES_ASC @NOAAFisheries@durifcaroline
Meet the 8 recipients of the 2023 NMFS-Sea Grant #Fellowship!
Sea Grant and @NOAAFisheries have collaborated for over 20 years to train the next generation of #fisheries#management experts.

It’s not all modeling on my computer! Yesterday I got to help out @AliFrey5 and @k_hanky on some field work tagging Striped Bass, Black Sea Bass, and Fluke @UMassD_SMAST
Having a great time at #ICFT2023 so far! Nothing quite beats a room full of people talking about fish tagging. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the talks this week!
New acoustic telemetry project alert 🚨 yesterday we deployed 7 receivers around the Block Island wind farm. Next step: tag stripers, black sea bass, and fluke to study movements and connectivity between turbines @UMassD_SMAST@BOEM
We hauled-out the acoustic receivers for the last time yesterday! These 10 receivers have been collecting data on tagged cod fish in offshore wind energy areas for the last 3.5 years. Bittersweet moment as I trade in fieldwork and boat days for dissertation work and data
New map layers show proposed locations for #offshorewind energy infrastructure including turbine locations, substations, inter-array cables, export cables, and export cable corridors.

@BarbieriSue Acoustic telemetry was used to support stock ID of Atlantic cod in US waters, particularly to study spawning dynamics of overlapping populations. Link to the full cod stock id report: https://t.co/42UIOM2YBs
Interesting paper for folks in the Northeast US thinking about the effect of offshore wind pile driving on spawning cod. Results suggest the cod stay focused on their job!
@EatingEcosystem is holding their Annual Community Seafood Dinner this saturday! Join us in wakefield to enjoy a buffet of tons of local species! https://t.co/xzlk7YnASC
@UMassD_SMAST I always make sure to pack my favorite food and snacks! It motivates me to eat throughout the day to combat seasickness, improves the mood during long days, and it’s fun to share with others! (favorites include a sub sandwich, goldfish, pretzels, starbursts, cookies, iced tea)
I had the best week sharing science and meeting other early career scientists from around the world. Thanks to the organizers for putting on such a great event!
