Really excited to have a co-authored article with @MaikenUmbach published in Holocaust Studies journal entitled ‘Private photos and Holocaust testimony: A complex relationship’. https://t.co/FveGH6NZxO
A timely coincidence that I passed my viva today on #HMD2023 with my thesis exploring the photographs of four ordinary but extraordinary Holocaust survivors & their families. TY @TimCole_Bristol and Nick Baron for a supportive and challenging discussion & TY to my supervisors!
We were very excited to be joined by PhD student Alice Tofts from @I_W_M and Yiftach Meiri from @yadvashem to run sessions.
The Regional Ambassadors who attended our Study Visit to Yad Vashem earlier this year were also able to present their follow-up projects to their peers.

Never heard of the 'Malayan Emergency'? Does the term ring a bell but that's it? Then check out this @I_W_M podcast I made with @PhilNWang where we both learn things. He learns more about this complex, deeply relevant colonial war & I learn that he is a famous comedian 🙃
Doing a PhD on the subject of the Holocaust has been an extremely lonely and challenging experience. I am so glad to be part of developing @TraumaHistNet, building conversations and networks where themes like trauma, self-reflexivity and emotions can be explored.
