@H_Nelson1758 Don't let these rabid misogynists destroy your impression of God. Repeat the Hail Mary and Our Father before going to bed. Practical spirituality is infinitely more impactful than a long winded book. I will pray for your conversion and wish you the best.
@_y_o_t I used to not believe in God, and I was far more adamant about it than she was. I don’t know why you treat atheist as the one unforgivable sin. With enough time and patience, she’ll come to believe. Giving up on her would be unchristian.
It seems pointless to you because you don't recognise the fact that there is one objective truth and that the Creator is the King of Kings worthy of greater honour and deference than any of His earthly Lieutenants on earth.
I used to be mildly interested in Catholic/Protestant and Trad/Con Catholic debates, but now it mostly seems so pointless to me.
Specifically, RCs attacking CofE Walsingham pilgrims evidently have no clue that this behaviour just makes religion unattractive to observers.
@Osarseph0 A crisis which completely destroys the faith. Anyone associated with the ultramontane church becomes an atheist like Skojec, turns entirely against the Christian faith like Thaddeus or flees into eclectic Perennialism like namae.
Thank goodness I avoided communion.
@HilarityjaneArt Papal positivism is derived from Pastor Aeternus and further reinforced by Lumen Gentium, Dei Verbum. Members of the ultramontane church have no choice but to accept liberal modernist absolutism.
@exRhenum@Catholic8941@HiraethHayseed He isn't misleading anyone. Ever heard of the Gagnon report? Not a single ultramontane claimant can truly claim to be free, and that goes back as far as Leo XIII under the Freemason Rampolla. The entire Roman Court is full of subversives.
@Catholic8941 This but unironically. If you look at the doctrine Abbe Gregoire promoted you will find nothing that wasn't found in antiquity at one point in time. Popes were voted in by regular lay persons for instance.
The Church of England on the other hand promotes wicked novelty.
@CanonRobinWard@RichardTYoder1 Abbe Gregoire's faction and the old Church of Utrecht were fully Catholic and Apostolic since they professed the Tridentine Faith and the Vincentian Canon.
The ultramontane church founded in 1870 and the remnant of the Church of England can't claim any historical continuity.
