We’ll not come back until we get 300 police complaints receiving copies in my DM from 1.5Cr #WazirX users. It seems like most of you don’t care enough about your own money, so why should we keep fighting alone? We’ve been talking in circles on X without making any real progress.

Since yesterday, #WazirX and their team have hijacked our Telegram group, targeting me with ridiculous questions, how much have I invested (It doesn’t matter and I’ve already shared this), who’s paying me? why do you want to do a legal case in India? Singapore is a better option and more. And it’s not just me, they’re going after other influencers who are speaking out for victims. Even if this nonsense is true, remember, we’re fighting for you, not ourselves.

But let’s be clear, #WazirX’s attacks aren’t what’s stopping us, I can handle that. I’m sure some of you will now say #WazirX has paid me off to stay quiet.

The real issue is that in the entire month, we’ve been at this, not one of you has sent me a copy of your complaint. Everyone seems to be waiting for someone else to act first, hoping they’ll get their money back without lifting a finger. We’re not going to win unless we have 200-300 complaints filed across India.

My story is simple, I’m a sailor and the founder of a small shipping company, completely unrelated to crypto. Trading has always been my passion. I’ve never been active on social media before the hack apart from LinkedIn, so I didn’t know any influencers or other exchange owners before the hack, I was a loyal #WazirX customer since 2020 because of #Binance support at that time and never had accounts on any other Indian exchange. I lost money in the #WazirX hack and thought uniting us was the only way a regular person could win in India.

To be honest, losing Rs 50 lakhs isn’t a huge hit for me, I could easily sit back like everyone else and let #WazirX do whatever they want. But sitting and doing nothing is not the best option. That's what they want.

But if you had supported me, the plan was simple, fight together as one, and drag them all to the High Court and Supreme Court of India.

Here’s where we stand, #WazirX is only allowing INR withdrawals, which doesn’t benefit us at all. Why? Because it’s their way of avoiding legal trouble in India, because INR is regulated and crypto isn’t, they can’t just take our INR and vanish. Also, the hack happened on July 18th around 1115 AM something, with the snapshot taken at 1 PM. This timing suggests that #WazirX insiders might have sold off their crypto holdings and converted them to INR, so they’re the only ones benefiting from these withdrawals and not the real users.

For the crypto assets, they’re pursuing a Singapore scheme of arrangement, which could drag on for months, if not years. So, we’re not getting our crypto back anytime soon. Meanwhile, we planned to fight our legal battle in parallel, which could also take months or years. After several meetings with lawyers, we decided to go after them from both criminal and NCDRC fronts.

Doing nothing isn’t an option. Trading isn’t resuming anytime soon, and the Singapore scheme of arrangement, while different from bankruptcy, could still leave us in the same boat if the community doesn’t accept the outcome.

So, it’s better to fight now than to sit back and hope for trading to resume, which is far from certain.

Another big task is choosing our lawyers. Right now, at least four different law firms are actively involved with us in telegram. We need to choose one as a community because fighting the same battle with multiple lawyers is a waste of time and resources. Once we have a solid approach, we can run a poll to select our legal representation.

Legal battles are expensive, but I don’t want the community to contribute from their pockets, users already need money for emergencies after the hack. I have plans to raise funds from big players so we can hire the best lawyers in India to make an example out of #WazirX, so no other company dares to pull this on their users again. We might not recover 100% of our losses, but we won’t stop either until we take 100% of theirs and make them regret what they’ve done to us.
