Bob Kerslake offered warm and generous support throughout my time working with him at @NEF, he suggested mentoring me through a move to a non-exec career despite being massively busy, and most recently helped recruit our new CEO. I learned a lot from him. We’ve lost a v good egg.
We are heartbroken to hear that our wonderful Chair Lord Bob Kerslake has passed away. He was a kind, compassion and brilliant public servant. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
🎉So exited about this
The first @scope Disability Equality Awards. Celebrating individuals, organisations and others driving disability equality forward.
Nominations are open!
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again.
📢 We need to see support specifically targeted at disabled people, who are bearing the brunt of the cost-of-living crisis.
We are braced for the biggest fall in living standards in decades, and disabled families will be among the hardest hit. 💰
The measures announced by Government today don’t go nearly far enough.
And it isn't just @scope research showing this. Today Parliament has published research DWP have refused to share that highlights how many disabled people are struggling to get by https://t.co/ZUmNp6D4Ct
Really proud of this new report I've written with @NEF on how we could reshape our benefits & tax systems to provide genuine social security for all. If you're interested in big, radical policy ideas please do have a read, share it & tell us what you think https://t.co/m4s5pOJQUG
I’ve not read a book (or tweeted) in a while because my brain’s not been working well and that makes things difficult. However @DanRhodes101 is one of my all time favourite writers, I’ve just greedily gobbled up his new book and it’s made me very happy. https://t.co/9bKFOuLNMq

Every disabled person is different. People with invisible conditions can sometimes struggle to get support.
Catch Scope’s @jamestaylor2 talking about this tonight at 7.30pm on @ITVTonight’s ‘Hidden Disabilities: What’s the Truth?’.

Learning from my reverse mentor Richard @Speedincaesar is one of my favourite things about my @scope job. He was in the paper yesterday helping us launch our new fundraising product #MakeItCount. It’s a good read.
