@bergersmicer I was thrilled when he attended an event I fronted about my Hollywood ancestor, character actress Mary Gordon, at the @glasgowfilmfest in 2009. To my amazement, he said he had never heard of her until that day! And, yes, Hollywood was a monumental series and achievement.

@LeahFHardy She made it but the bowel obstruction went on & on. Poor soul was in hospital for 7.5 months, making it to the elderly unit, only to die back in the QEUH. Before the palliative care began I found her in her room, door closed, brown vomit on face, nobody checking on her.

@LeahFHardy My mum became ill with the v same thing WHILE in hospital (#QEUH) following a fall. She recovered well from hip op but 3 wks later had sepsis & low potassium. HDU medic said she might not make it coz her body had gone into starvation mode & didn’t have reserves to fight it
