@thephysicsgirl Most vehicles deal by keeping compressibility significantly less than water — gives negative feedback. But if you’re designing passive midwater floats, this is an important design consideration.
@thephysicsgirl Sure. Imagine an object that’s floating at some depth with perfectly neutrally buoyancy. If it’s overall more compressible than seawater, a small dip to higher pressure will make it negatively buoyant, which makes it dive deeper, which makes it compress more, etc.
