On June 6, 1944, Allied forces launched the invasion of Normandy, a turning point in World War II and the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe.
Today, we remember the heroes who gave everything for freedom. Their legacy will live on forever. #DDay
Today, I attended a briefing in Austin on Texas’ response to the New World screwworm threat.
Protecting our livestock industry, ranching communities, and agricultural economy is critical, and I appreciate the coordination helping keep Texas prepared.
Yesterday, my Cameron County staff attended the Women Empowering Women Luncheon hosted by the Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce.
Harlingen CISD Superintendent Veronica Kortan shared her journey to becoming superintendent and spoke about the importance of knowledge and confidence in achieving success.
Thank you to the Harlingen Chamber for hosting this event and investing in the next generation of leaders.
Jesus. Family. Business.
That’s the Texas way. When we stand firm in our faith, protect our families, and support hardworking businesses, Texas stays strong, free, and prosperous.
As summer gets underway, CCISD’s Summer Meals Program is once again providing free breakfast and lunch to children and teens across our community. This program helps ensure that students continue to have access to nutritious meals while school is out and gives families an additional resource during the summer months.
Thank you to CCISD, its campus teams, and the many staff members working throughout the summer to make this program available. I encourage families to review the available meal sites and take advantage of this valuable community resource.

At NACL this morning some wonderful encouragement from Pat and Karen Schatzline. “If you’re not coming up against the devil it’s because you are in the flow with him.” 💥💥 @Patschatz@ChristLawmakers
Actually I think it’s more like “the more Texans see video evidence of James simply saying what he believes, the more they realize how out of step he is with Texas.” He’s doing all the convincing himself.
Audits promote financial transparency and accountability. It is reasonable and necessary to have both before you go to the citizens with a tax increase. Make the case.

My office is closely monitoring the recently confirmed screwworm case in South Texas and remains in contact with the appropriate state and federal agencies as they respond to the situation.
Since last year, I’ve been sounding the alarm about the serious threat this pest poses to our livestock industry, wildlife, and agricultural economy, especially in South Texas and District 27. While officials are working to contain this isolated case, it serves as an important indicator that we must act now! While we continue to support the efforts of our federal partners, I’m dedicated to working with my fellow Texas Senators and House members to support an immediate state response to this imminent threat!
South Texas ranchers, livestock producers, and agricultural communities are vital to our region and our state’s economy. I encourage livestock owners to stay alert, follow guidance from animal health officials, and report any concerns promptly.
Texas has been preparing to combat New World Screwworm for years and we are ready.
Working alongside @SecRollins and key partners, including the @TAHC, @AgriLife, @TexasFarmBureau, @txcattlefeeders, and @TSCRA, our state will contain and eradicate this pest while protecting our livestock industry and food supply.

The 2026 @TexasGOP Convention is only one week away!
I’m looking forward to celebrating all we've achieved together as a party and discussing our vision for keeping Texas one of the greatest states to live, work, and raise a family. I hope to see you there.

I am supported by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas and look forward to working with them to ensure the Lone Star State remains a beacon of economic prosperity.
TEXAS MEANS BUSINESS.
Today, Representative @JanieLopezForTX and I hosted a Public Utility Agency and Regional Infrastructure Summit in Harlingen, bringing together leaders from across South Texas to discuss how regional collaboration can help address future infrastructure needs.
The discussion focused on how Public Utility Agencies can help communities work together on water, wastewater, stormwater, drainage, transportation, and economic development projects while improving competitiveness for state and federal funding.
South Texas is growing, and the challenges ahead require regional solutions. By working together, we can build the infrastructure needed to support our communities for generations to come.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this important conversation. We look forward to continuing these discussions across South Texas.
