So this is a weird spot to be in… as an atheist, I obviously don’t believe in heaven or hell, or god. As a former evangelical, with a Masters of Divinity, having worked in full-time ministry, it bothers me that Christians have their theology so wrong. No, according to Christian doctrine, Trump is almost certainly not getting into heaven, if it existed.

Gen 2 says very clearly: “When no bush of the field was yet in the land (or open country) and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up—for the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the land (or earth)”, God created man.

The truth is that Genesis 1 and 2 were written by two different authors at two different times, with two different understandings of the creation.
