i'm not catholic, but i always found "in what I have done and in what I have failed to do" in the confiteor quite striking.
our faith and moral convictions have become much passive, much too focused on avoiding sin. we've lost all stomach for the idea that our inaction costs us
SECRETARY RUBIO: “Nationalism” became a dirty word. So we tore down our monuments, we condemned our own history, and in too many places we taught our children to be ashamed of the countries they would inherit. In the process we opened our borders, and outsourced our industry, and allowed our militaries to wither and to decay.
Anduril is building America's largest shipyard since WWII. This space needs bold investment and decisive action.
In the 1790s, Baltimoore clippers were the fastest and most advanced sailing ships of their time. King George III didn't stand a chance. Time to run the same play.
Men over 30 have developed Peter Pan syndrome at a higher number than ever before. My friends and I have noticed a similar pattern.
They’ll find a girl who presents as the ideal woman: she’s wifey. She’s beautiful, sweet, intelligent, a good cook. She cares for him when he’s sick. She encourages him to be the best version of himself.
He’ll tell her this is what he wants, she’s what he wants. She checks off all the boxes.
But something is missing, he pulls away. And when he does, she will go against her feminine and chase him. Because good ones are so hard to find these days.
He will lead her on, make her think it’s going somewhere. And eventually chicken out. A few days later, she’ll send a paragraph.
The biggest crisis in America is not the declining birth rate, but the part that comes before it. Men are unwilling and unable to commit to good women.
The American dream is inconceivable without the American family. And the American family is impossible without a strong partnership.
There are a lot of great Boomers out there. But they didn't build this country into a superpower. They brought us the sexual revolution and the divorce epidemic and mass migration, and plunged the country into trillions of dollars of debt in the process. They will leave the country much poorer and less stable than it was when they inherited it. That's just a fact.
How broken is the housing market?
My buddy rents a 3 bed, 2 bath house in LA for $8,500/month
His landlord just offered to sell it to him directly for $2.3M before putting it on the market
He asked me if he should do it?
So I did the math with him
With 20% down, his total payment would be over $15,000/month
That's around $7,000 more than his rent. For the same house
To keep his payment at $8,500/month, he'd need to put $1.5 MILLION down
Read that again
He needs $1.5M in cash just to pay the same amount per month he's paying right now renting
Before you think about buying a home, do the math
Vice President JD Vance on H1-B visas:
"If you’re going to bring in an accountant making $45,000 a year to replace an accountant who is an American making $60,000 a year, that’s not you using the program to bring in a genius. That’s you destroying American jobs and defrauding the American people... my view is the H1-B program is completely broken."
Meet Emily Reese. Emily is a far left extremist who thinks it's funny to post videos celebrating the murder of Charlie Kirk.
Emily is a student at UNC Wilmington and a member of the sorority Delta Zeta. Her father is Don Reese a Client Success Manager at Healthcare Management Administrators.
The progressive feminists standing in solidarity with Lindsay have not caught on that their whole argument here is setting back their entire movement. If women’s hormones can drive a woman to MURDER her babies, then men can argue that women should not vote, become President, or have any real authority in society. Women are nothing more than emotional, hormonal beings according to their logic. Congrats! You’re succeeding in getting the 19th amendment repealed.
My wife is furious with the Lindsay Clancy case. She says it’s the worst thing possible for women. If women are so hormonal they can’t keep from killing their own children, how can women argue they deserve any positions of high responsibility? It’s anti-women to favor not guilty.
People who are willing to get married within 6 months of meeting actually take the marital commitment more seriously than people who insist on dating for multiple years before getting engaged.
The long-term daters have the attitude that they need to be in a relationship for years so they can see the all the negative aspects of the other person. They don't want to commit until they feel confident that the other person doesn't have any negative traits they haven't seen yet. What's the implication here? If their boyfriend or girlfriend does have issues that they didn't know about, then the marriage was a mistake. They'll more likely want a divorce if unforeseen character flaws do arise after marriage. They're trying to prevent this at all costs by dating for years before marriage.
Those who are willing to marry within 6 months are sending the opposite message: They may not be aware of every negative aspect of the person they're dating, but they'll make the commitment anyway. They're showing that they really are willing to stay together for better or worse. Imperfections might surface a few years into marriage, and that's okay. They're willing to accept that as part of marriage that they can deal with instead of viewing it as a dealbreaker.
Just my opinion, what do you think?

I don't think people really understand the fight between Paul Graham and Palmer Luckey which played out this week. To the general public, from a casual perspective, it seemed like two rich guys getting in a heated, impulsive debate on Twitter, dragging out for days.
It's not.
Paul is worth ~$2.5 billion. Palmer is worth ~$5 billion. Nothing these guys do is impulsive. They've been sitting on this for years. They were arguing in private for months, maybe years, before Palmer decided this week was the correct window of opportunity to make a public attack.
Paul Graham is one of the intellectual fulcrum points of Silicon Valley. He funds everyone. He sets the tone. He shapes the agenda. Entry-level professionals mimic his style, his worldview, his mannerisms, the way Paul talks. Everyone parrots his beliefs and policies and essays, as chameleon strivers who are trying to get ahead and climb the social ladder.
All of Silicon Valley revolves around a handful of key figures, and Paul Graham was (perceived as) one of the intellectual titans who the entire industry orbited as sycophants.
Palmer challenged all that.
Paul is an elite, Palmer is an elite, and Palmer Luckey chose to publicly challenge the status quo; the elite consensus; the perceived legitimacy of incumbent elits and their institutions.
And he did this for a reason: Palmer is aiming to take the role of Paul Graham, of being the new intellectual godfather of Silicon Valley, based around a new set of ideas: reindustrialization, patriotism, protectionism... rather than America as a deracinated cosmopolitan economic zone to be strip-mined by Third World foreigners.
It's much bigger than a Twitter argument. Palmer was publicly demonstrating that the Emperor had no clothes, and that he was strong enough to MOG Paul Graham and get away with it, while other Silicon Valley tech workers would be terrified of making an enemy who could suffocate future business ventures and block potential funding.
Palmer Luckey is the face of a new military-industrialist consensus which is seeking to hire American workers for American jobs, to build factories and weapons at home, to remilitarize and reindustrialize, to get away from asset inflation and FIRE (finance, insurance, real estate) as a sterile, parasitic rent-seeking economic system.
That's the subtext for all of this. It's a public signal of a rising counterelite challenging a stagnant, ossified status quo which can no longer justify or defend their own claim to power.
Muslims have a plan to make America a Muslim nation.
Marxists have a plan to make America a Marxist nation.
Secular Progressives have a plan to make America a Secular Progressive nation.
Christians seem to always have a plan to keep Christianity from further influencing our nation by discipling people into political apathy (“we don’t get political”) or political ambiguity (“Jesus isn’t a Republican or Democrat, neither Right nor Left” = primary application of gospel to culture)
^^^this has had very predictable results for the last few decades
I was told, at Tesla, while an active employee, that I wasn’t being considered for promotion to a role for which I was objectively and undeniably on every metric the most qualified and experienced candidate for because leadership “was looking for more diverse perspectives”.
They ended up hiring a lesbian MBA fresh out of school.
She was fired in 6 months personally by Elon.
She had to take a red eye flight last minute to meet with him to discuss severe underperformance and was fired that morning.
In 4.5 years I was never even put into consideration for promotion even though I lasted longer than any team member who was there when I joined and I left at the same pay grade I joined.
No complaints because the stock was worth it, but yeah, that was really just luck of the draw at the end of the day. Most don’t have that benefit to make up for it.
This is simply the current reality of being a straight white male today. You are the only type of person it’s not only acceptable but encouraged to discriminate against even at the detriment of work, quality, leadership, customer service, anything.
Any cost is worth it as long as they get to humiliate you in the process.
