Every survivor of TFGBV deserves timely access to care, protection, and support. @Ally_Assist , we connect GBV survivors with trusted health facilities and support services when they need them most.
Online violence is real violence, and survivors deserve survivor-centered care.
‘’ Ending gender-based violence also means ending violence in digital spaces.’’
According to @UNFPA 9 out of 10 women in Africa experience Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV), highlighting the growing threat of online violence against women and girls.
Today, @doctors_women , in partnership with @numunfund and the @ShoawGambia , hosted an insightful online workshop on Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV).
The session explored the many forms of TFGBV, including cyberbullying, cyberstalking, non-consensual sharing of intimate images, online hate speech, and the growing misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI). We highlighted the importance of strengthening digital safety skills, raising awareness, improving survivor support mechanisms, and advocating for stronger policies and accountability measures to create safer online environments for women and girls.
Let us all create a future where women and girls can safely access and benefit from technology without fear of harassment, abuse, or discrimination.
@Ally_Assist , we understand that many teenage mothers face stigma, violence, and limited support. That’s why the Ishami Initiative matters.
Empowering young mothers with skills, SRHR education, mentorship, and safe spaces helps build a better future.
“Every stitch made and every skill learned is a step toward confidence, independence, and hope.” - Ishami Initiative
Teenage pregnancy remains a significant public health and social challenge in Rwanda. About 8% of teenage girls have begun childbearing, with many of them facing school dropout, stigma, economic dependence, mental health challenges, and limited opportunities for their future.
Recognizing these realities and the urgent need to support young mothers beyond motherhood alone, @doctors_women officially launched the Ishami Initiative, a six-month empowerment program supporting teenage mothers aged 15-19 through tailoring skills development, peer support, mentorship, and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education.
Through the initiative, RWDFRJ is creating a safe and supportive space where young mothers can rebuild confidence, develop practical income-generating skills, and access comprehensive SRHR education, including contraception, prevention of repeat unintended pregnancies, healthy relationships, parenting, mental health support, and access to youth-friendly healthcare services.
At RWDFRJ, we believe every girl deserves dignity, support, and the opportunity to thrive regardless of her circumstances. Through Ishami Initiative, we are transforming vulnerability into resilience, empowerment, and hope.

At @Ally_Assist , we believe protecting women’s health also means ensuring GBV survivors can safely and quickly connect to nearby health facilities, support services, and care without stigma or fear. Every survivor deserves timely care, protection, and a safe pathway to support.
Day 6 of RWDFRJ Women’s Health Week: Ending Gender-Based Violence is Protecting Women’s Health.
Today, @doctors_women raises awareness about Gender-Based Violence (GBV) as a major public health and human rights concern affecting women and girls worldwide. GBV goes beyond physical harm. It deeply affects women’s mental, emotional, sexual, and reproductive health, while also impacting their dignity, safety, and overall well-being. Many women and girls continue to experience physical, emotional, sexual, economic, and technology-facilitated violence in silence, often without timely access to support and care.
The growing burden of GBV reminds us that violence against women remains a critical issue requiring urgent and collective action. Beyond its health consequences, GBV limits women and girls from fully participating in education, employment, leadership, and community life.
As we continue celebrating RWDFRJ Women’s Health Week, let us remember that protecting women’s health also means protecting their rights, safety, and bodily autonomy.
#WomensHealthWeek2026
85% of women have witnessed online violence against another woman.
At @AllyAssist, we recognize that online violence is real violence. Our platform connects survivors of gender-based violence to the nearest health facilities and support services.
Digital rights are human rights
@doctors_women was honored to join global experts and advocates addressing the growing threat of digital violence against women and girls at the Virtual Fourth Global Symposium on Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence, organized by @UNFPA, @Canada, and @APC.
Discussions highlighted a concerning reality: nearly two in three women worldwide have experienced some form of Technology-Facilitated GBV. From online harassment and cyberstalking to non-consensual image sharing, digital spaces are increasingly used to silence women and girls. These harms affect mental health, safety, public participation, and access to essential sexual and reproductive health information.
We remain committed to advancing survivor-centered responses, stronger platform accountability, and safer digital spaces.
Digital rights are human rights.

We explored @Ally_Assist : a platform that provides confidential, survivor-centred guidance, removes barriers to accessing care, and enables healthcare providers to respond safely and effectively.
When survivors can’t reach services, services must reach survivors.
#EndGBV
Silence should never be the cost of survival.
In Rwanda, over 60% of GBV survivors never report, mostly due to stigma and fear.
During the digital literacy workshop, women healthcare providers and medical students explored @Ally_Assist.
