Whoever "demanded" this should go and read all those columns that were published in German media a few months ago on how it's the law of the strongest in this new age and we must accept it and the weak will suffer what they must
ich frage mich außerdem schon seit längeren, ob die wiederkehrenden betonungen darüber, dass man über gaza so schwer berichten könne, manchmal auch verwendet werden, um Fakten einfach in Abrede zu stellen.
Reporters using "defense" to describe what Israel is doing in Lebanon are providing cover and impunity for these forms of brutal erasures. Inexcusable.
Israel carried out a “triple tap,” killing three medical workers and wounding six, outside of Nabatieh today.
Paramedics were trying to rescue wounded from an airstrike, when they were struck. Another ambulance came to rescue the medical workers and was struck. A third rescue attempt was made, and that ambulance was struck too. A paramedic remains missing.
Israel has killed over 90 healthcare workers in Lebanon in about six weeks.
Pictured: One of the slain medical workers, Fadel Sarhan.
Israeli hegemony, on the other hand, is literal. It is the necropolitics of deciding who lives and who dies, dishing out violence from above. They just committed dozens of massacres throughout the country last week. How can people not understand this?
A roomful of billionaires took up a collection to fund a blog that would make fun of college students, defend Israel, and patronize the sensibilities of not-very-bright but very rich boomers. One of those boomers then bought it for $150 million and also bought tiktok and much of the rest of the media.
Good for you, but please spare us the parade.
April 12, 2026, I visited Marwan Barghouti in my capacity as his lawyer.
What I confirmed through this visit is deeply alarming. In recent weeks, Marwan Barghouti has been subjected to three violent assaults. On April 8 in Ganot Prison, he was severely beaten and left bleeding for more than two hours. He requested medical care and was denied treatment. On March 25, he was assaulted during his transfer from Megiddo to Ganot. On March 24, in Megiddo Prison, guards entered his cell with a dog, forced him to the ground, and the dog repeatedly attacked him.
These are not isolated incidents. They form a clear pattern of escalating abuse: violence, medical neglect, and treatment that places him at immediate risk.
He had a great deal to say. Above all, he wanted to know more about his family and the Palestinian people, What is happening in Palestinian and Israeli scene I tried to tell him everything I know.
But even that conversation took place under absurd conditions: the phones did not work, so we had to shout through the glass just to hear each other.
For five hours, I sat there without food or water, trying to make sure this visit meant something.
This is what a legal visit looks like today: basic conditions denied, communication obstructed, and even the most elementary human and professional standards ignored.
And still, despite all of that, his mind was sharp, focused, and deeply engaged with everything happening outside those prison walls.
It’s time for Germany to reassess its support for Israeli actions that not only contradict its policies but are now the basis for vitriol against state leaders. /2
This is fascinating because in Germany many phrases are criminalised because they are taken very literally in the most extreme interpretation.
But this kind of genocide threats apparently are to be taken lightly and in the most benign interpretation.
In the last 3 (!) negotiations with Iran, the U.S.-Israel have killed the negotiators, including Kamal Kharrazi, 81, who died from his injuries today. His wife was almost killed.
Israel also killed Hamas negotiators every chance they got. We are the least self aware people to ever live.
CCTV videos emerging a day after one of Lebanon’s deadliest days. In this video from Kaifoun, a person at the top center can be seen with a baby stroller within the impact zone of the airstrike.
“The Israeli army can say whatever it wants, but it is not providing any evidence. What I see on the ground is families terrorised - videos of people jumping from balconies to escape, images of children wounded by shrapnel and trapped under rubble. This is also my city. I’ve walked these streets countless times. The strikes came without warning, during rush hour”
For @BBCNewsnight on Israel’s claims that it struck Hezbollah centres and took precautions to “mitigate harm to civilians”.
