I will be on bbc radio scotland today around 10am talking about the restrictions on mum and baby classes. Listen in and if anyone could record it for me that would be amazing!!
#undulyrestrictive#parentsmatter
Parent and baby groups are being treated unfairly. It could have been avoided by consulting with the people who run and use the classes.
The Scottish Government should nip this in the bud today and withdraw the guidance. #GIRFEC#BabyClassRestrictions

🔊"I feel safer going to one of the classes than I do going to the supermarket"
Over 5000 people have signed a petition calling for an increase on the number of people who can attend parent & baby classes.
Jemma Payne gave birth during lockdown-she tells us they're important👇
Ridiculous decision and must be re looked at. @NicolaSturgeon please get a focus group or something together to understand the real impact this is having on both mums and babies. Especially those ‘lockdown’ babies as it’s just not right!
The classes, many run by self-employed instructors, won’t be financially viable with only 3 or 4 paying clients.
Pregnant women, new parents and babies will lose out. Will @scotgov provide financial support? If not, please relax the #babyclassrestrictions@NicolaSturgeon
Almost a million missed mammograms.
If even a tiny percentage of those lead to a significantly delayed diagnosis of breast cancer, the consequences will be tragic. This needs to become an urgent national priority and fast.
@NicolaSturgeon what reasoning is there by minimising the numbers for baby classes? All have now been cxld! 😩 The lockdown babies have already missed out on so much and to be at classes last week was such a joy and needed for mum and baby but older kids can still go to school???
Hartbeeps classes started back 2wks ago. Risk assessments done, covid measures in place, 2mtr islands, masks worn in/out, very safe & now the new guidance means no classes for over 5 adults. Worried for the mental health of parents as we are seen as a lifeline. @NicolaSturgeon
2 weeks into return of our developmental baby/toddler Hartbeeps in strict, COVID secure environments:2m distancing of parents/carers,masks to seat, temp checks, sanitisation stations, single use sterile props etc NO ISSUES, & this wknd hit w rule of 5 adults. Yet pubs remain open
This is an awful news to put a new restriction on covid-secure baby classes without any consideration of venue size etc. Mums right now need this outlet to meet other mums and have support. @NicolaSturgeon@jasonleitch
Daisy Foundation Lanarkshire pregnancy & baby classes were a god send to me in 2016 and 2019. @juliekeys78 provides a vital service to Lanarkshire Mums’ mental health and well-being. If gym classes have over 10 people allowed in, these vital baby groups should too @ChristinaSNP
@jamiehepburn can you find out information please? These services are vital and the impact on our mental health as well as our babies development are being overlooked yet again!
