Residency truly is the worst… NOT because of the patients (truly the patients are the only thing that kept me going) but because of everything else we deal with at work. I truly don’t know how I’m going to survive another 3 years of this shit.
Always wanted people to know about the little island I'm from but definitely not like this 🥴 So grateful my family was safely evacuated. Today, there's no water or power and the ash is so thick the sun can't break through...#PrayForSVG
A volcano erupted "explosively" on St. Vincent, forcing over 16,000 people to evacuate parts of the island.
The volcano was dormant for decades. Disaster officials say it is unclear how long the eruption will last, and evacuees "might not be able to get back home for years."
@CMSGov why are there only two gender options for healthcare providers applying for an NPI #? And the provider’s gender is public information, despite there being only two gender options & there’s not any explanation before applying that this info is being shared publicly?
Today I’m thinking about my grandparents (both of whom died in the past 4 months) who never left our island. No matter what happens, I’m very literally living their wildest dreams and for that I am eternally grateful! #medtwitter#match2021
I feel so seen by this article!! Thank you for writing this @AdairaLandryMD
“How do you know you’ll find good mentorship from someone you just met?” One faculty member responded, “Choose someone similar to you.” Around me was a dense space of white coats and white faces😶
Wrote this bc I'm tired of being told I have Imposter Syndrome. I'm not an imposter. I've been miseducated; conditioned to believe the isolating experience of being Black in education, academics & the workplace is imagined & I'm the problem @voguemagazine

Don't ask your BIPOC peers in medicine to rehash the difficulties of being in this space, esp. if you're unwilling to really listen. Instead, read these perspectives and others that are *widely* available.
