I had a deep conversation with @PeterClottery on the US-Eritrea sanctions lift, the new Red Sea order, and why the era of US naval dominance is over.

#Eritrea: the Long Road to Independence
by Shabait Staff
Eritrea, strategically positioned along the Red Sea in the volatile Horn of Africa, is a country shaped by resilience, sacrifice, and an unrelenting struggle for self-determination. With its long, unspoiled coastline and deep historical roots stretching back to the dawn of humanity, the nation occupies a unique place in both African and world history.
Yet Eritrea’s modern story has been defined above all by decades of foreign efforts at domination, political betrayal, and one of the longest liberation wars on the African continent.
As Eritreans worldwide celebrate the 35th anniversary of independence, this three-part series revisits the historical forces, international interventions, and popular resistance that forged the Eritrean nation

🇪🇷 🇨🇳|• President Xi Jinping Sends Warm and Strong Congratulations to President Isaias Afwerki and the #Eritrean People on the 35th Independence Anniversary.

The language coming from Addis Ababa keeps sliding from access to ownership, from trade to strategic control, from cooperation to pressure. Ethiopia speaks of “regaining” access to the Red Sea as though the sovereign coastline of another country is a lost national possession.
Congratulatory Message from President Donald J. Trump
In his message, President Donald Trump said that the American people join him in congratulating the people and Government of #Eritrea on the 35th anniversary of Eritrea’s independence, May 24. He also expressed respect and admiration for the steadfast spirit and resilience of the Eritrean people, as well as for their dedication to Eritrea’s national sovereignty.
President Donald Trump further noted that, consistent with the sentiment he expressed in his letter to President Isaias last year, and with the previous era now behind us, he believes the time is right to move forward and work together on shared peace and prosperity across the #Horn of #Africa and the #RedSea.

#Eritrea’s Agricultural Development Over the Past 35 Years: Significant Progress in the Regulation of Agricultural Products Part II
(MoA, Public Relations Division)

*"...To increase crop production and productivity, several improved varieties of field crops and vegetables have been developed over the past independence years by the National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) of the Ministry of Agriculture. After evaluation and approval by the National Variety Release Committee, coordinated by the Regulatory Services Department, these varieties have been incorporated into seed multiplication programs, which have had a significant impact on crop production and productivity".
*"...In collaboration with relevant government institutions and some private entities, the Regulatory Services Department has established a National Database on Fauna and Flora (NDFF), which currently contains records of nearly 5,000 species of fauna and flora. Efforts are underway to make this database accessible to the public. The identification and registration process will also be expanded to further enrich the NDFF and enhance its usefulness to concerned institutions".
