This is so, so much worse, than the initial report suggested (and it was already extremely bad).
DOGE are siphoning data and gaining access to systems without security precautions and the Russians — and likely Chinese and who knows who else — has probably broken into their amateurishly run operation and are seeing and recording everything.
This is a scandal that should be career-ending for everyone involved, at the very least. Criminal charges for treason if it comes out it is not just incompetence.
“I am not aware of any other commission where a decision of this significance could have been made in this way,” ….“Next to no notice. In a remote part of the state. Unwinding years of rulemaking work without any meaningful process.”

1/ Here’s a story about how journalism works.
Spoiler Alert: This is how we decide *not* to publish.
We were recently looking at Pete Hegesth’s different statements over the years about West Point, where he has said he was admitted.
First stop: West Point.
Hi, Elon. The assertion that some Henrico County precincts experienced 100% or greater turnout in the 2020 general election is incorrect. Here's a chart from the Henrico Voter Registration and Elections Office: https://t.co/hCVnE68pDe

My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.
Appellate lawyers, judges, and the judges interns all think very highly of themselves but they are the people in the world with the least subject matter knowledge and IMO the idea that America needs to empower them more is laughable.
Renewable Heat Now Denounces State Assembly Failure to Pass NY HEAT Act – We Will Remember and We Won’t Back Down.

Heastie & the Assembly appear to have killed the #NYHEAT act again.🤬
The bill would lower utility bills & cut pollution.
NY’s primary is June 25th: Donate to @clairecousin106@Soto4NY & @eonforassembly!
We thank the Senate for standing with working people, not the gas lobby.
The Renewable Heat Now campaign, representing 20+ organizations, sent a memo in support of the #NYHEAT Act to the @NYSA_Majority and @GovKathyHochul. We literally can't implement our climate plan without this crucial legislation. ⌛️Time is running out. Pass NY HEAT!
👏👏Powerful editorial f/@timesunion calling for #NYHEAT before session ends. "The 2019 law was a powerful statement of New York values: responsibility, leadership, innovation, equity. But...policy is the vehicle that gets us there." https://t.co/m5XJAlvpe2 @NYSA_Majority
New York is in the last week of its legislative session, with huge Dem majorities
And yet it hasn't passed the #NYHEAT act, or the Make Polluters Pay act. These are no-brainers: they save people money.
And we don't have any more years to waste!!!
@CarlHeastie @GovKathyHochul
Con Edison has backed changes. Even National Grid, as part of a report with RMI, acknowledged completely voluntary customer switching is not scalable to transition gas system

One thing this piece captures well is why utilities’ “obligation to serve” gas is at the center of climate debates in multiple states right now, and why NY HEAT backers are so committed to passing that part of the bill
The Assembly chose fossil fuel bottom lines over the needs of their constituents & blocked #NYHEAT, arguably the most transformative energy affordability & climate bill since the CLCPA, from this year's budget.
We're furious & heartbroken.

Really concerning situation in Maryland: “We mainly feel betrayed,” said Jamie DeMarco, the Maryland director for the Chesapeake Climate Action Network. “This was done in the dead of night without consultation. This is a partial repeal of Climate Solutions Now.” @CCAN
