Primary teachers in West Bengal are facing serious hardships due to long-distance postings, even after completing or nearing 5 years of service. Many are still not posted to nearby blocks in their home districts.

I am personally facing this issue as well. I am currently posted in South 24 Parganas district, while my home district is Nadia. This long distance affects not only professional efficiency but also personal and family life.

In 2021, 16,500 primary teachers were recruited based on exams held in 2014. Over time, life situations change, and posting policies must reflect this reality.

We respectfully request the concerned authorities to take immediate action and allow postings to nearby blocks within home districts after completion of 5 years of service.

This issue is not just a matter of convenience; it’s a question of fairness, well being, and the long term effectiveness of our education system. As someone personally facing this challenge, being posted in South 24 Parganas while my home district is Nadia, I can vouch for the emotional and professional toll it takes. Immediate action is crucial to ensure that teachers like me can continue to serve with dedication, while also maintaining a healthy balance between our personal and professional lives.
