#HappeningNow: Costing & budgeting workshop for the One Health National Action Plan (NAP) for #AMR in Kadoma. The 3 day training seeks to capacitate #Zim's costing Coordinators to cost the new NAP (2023- 2028) using the @WHO costing & budgeting tool thanks to @WHOAFRO support.
This week, the first COVAX #COVID19 vaccine shipment to Africa arrived in #Ghana. This is a much-awaited leap forward for African countries that have spent months preparing from the side-lines while wealthy countries race ahead with vaccination. #VaccinEquity
Cote d’Ivoire🇨🇮 is the second country in #Africa to receive #COVID19 vaccines from the COVAX facility!👏🏿 504,000 doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine just arrived in Abidjan. Another step towards #VaccinEquity & a symbol of global cooperation & solidarity.
Today, #Ghana🇬🇭 became the first country to receive #COVID19 vaccine doses shipped via the COVAX Facility.

Africa is the birthplace of humanity, but it will also play a vital part in the future of humanity. It is home to some of the richest resources on earth – our young brothers & sisters. They are the future of our great continent. And they must be the focus of our investments now.

8. Mediocrity is costly, for individuals, organizations and nations. Excellence doesn’t cost, like many think. Rather, it pays. We should not pursue excellence for greedy reasons. We need to love others enough to serve them with the best quality.
EQUITY must be central to #COVID19 diagnostics, therapeutics & vaccines. Too often, Africa is at the back of the queue. This is why we are advocating w/ partners like @_AfricanUnion & @Gavi for a vaccine that will be affordable & available to all.
