šØ Pollster @DustinOlson: āAs a pollster, a poll is a moment in time. Going forward, maybe two months from now, the idea that we have completely washed our hands of Iran, doesn't seem likely to me. Who knows, we could have more military conflict in the next few months, and who knows how that would affect [the midterms] if that happens.ā
Hereās the political reality surrounding Iran as we head into the midterms.
Even with all the turbulence over the last few months, Republicans have maintained their advantage on who voters trust more on the economy. If gas prices keep falling, that advantage should only grow.
Of course, as a pollster, Iāll say the obvious: a poll measures a moment in time. And I donāt think anyone should assume weāve completely washed our hands of Iran. More conflict could change the picture.
But right now, if the Iran situation cools down and prices keep moving in the right direction, that is very good news for Republicans this fall.
Thanks to @SharlaMcBride, @Marc_Lotter, and @JenniferKellyTV for a great convo!

Weāve been tracking primaries across the country for months now, and itās clear both parties are trending in their own, distinct direction.
Democrats are seeing Zohran Mamdani flex his growing influence as his Democratic Socialists stage a hostile takeover of the Party, rather than going the 3rd Party route.
Republicans continue to become more cohesive and aligned with President Trumpās vision for the Party and country.
All of that will continue tonight.

Joined @NEWSMAXās First Edition this morning with the dynamic duo of Emma Rechenberg and Jon Glasgow.
I explained the fascinating developments that led to Prime Minister Keir Starmerās resignation and why Americans should care.
Then we previewed todayās Republican and Democrat primaries across the country.
On the Democrat side, we're watching the rise of Mamdaniās power inside the party and the hostile takeover of Democrats by āDemocraticā Socialists.
For Republicans, we'll continue to see the party become more aligned and clearly built around President Trumpās vision for the GOP.
Thanks to @EmmaRechenberg, @Glasgow_Jon, and fellow guests @TZSmith, @GerardFilitti, and @BHWeingarten for a great conversation.
The āDemocraticā Socialists of America are attempting a hostile takeover of the Democrat Party. And theyāre succeeding.
This isnāt isolated anymore. Youāre seeing it in LA, DC, NYC, and blue cities all across the country.
The trend inside the Democrat Party is obvious: the Socialist wing is gaining steam while the party establishment keeps losing ground.
Recent polling even shows Democrat voters now view Socialism more favorably than Capitalism.
All in all, in Tuesdayās Primary Elections, Republicans will continue becoming more cohesive heading into the midterms, Democrats will continue becoming more divided, and the DSA is driving the wedge.

The latest Fauci, COVID-origins, and lab-leak revelations from DNI @TulsiGabbard are really about Americaās collapsing trust in institutions.
Gallup shows confidence in the medical system has fallen to 32% since 2020.
That's the real Fauci storyāhe torched the credibility of a whole institution trying to protect his own.
And any one of Gabbard's numerous revelations during her tenure would have been Watergate-level news coverage 50 years ago.
Today, it barely gets a mention. That is why Gallup has trust in another institutionāmass mediaādown to 28%. The media didnāt just miss the story. They helped enforce the story.
Once ātrust the scienceā became āstop asking questions,ā trust collapsed.
Thanks to @IkeWingate and @NEWSMAX for having me on to discuss.
I joined Wake Up America on @NEWSMAX this morning to talk Iran, gas prices, the midterms, and the growing socialist takeover of the Democrat Party.
On Iran, the political impact is pretty straightforward: as gas prices fall, the GOPās prospects rise. That matters more to voters than any Beltway debate over who likes or hates this or that part of any deal.
Even after the turbulence of the last few months, Republicans have maintained a slight advantage on who voters trust more on the economy. If prices continue moving in the right direction, that advantage should only grow heading into the fall.
But the bigger long-term story may be whatās happening inside the Democrat Party.
The Democratic Socialists of America are not just making noise. They are attempting a hostile takeover of the party⦠AND they are succeeding.
Each week as we roll through more state primary elections, the big story is that Republicans are becoming more cohesive and Democrats are becoming more divided.
Thanks to @SharlaMcBride, @Marc_Lotter, and @JenniferKellyTV for a great convo!
šØ Pollster @DustinOlson: āDemocrats are now being tagged as the Open Borders Party. In the recent [Aprils Harvard-Harris] poll, 58% now say that, including a majority of Democrats and independents.ā
Abolish ICE is the new Defund the Police⦠And thatās why majorities of Americansāincluding Democrats and Independentsāsay Democrat politicians are for Open Borders.
Mamdani advocating for the abolition of ICE is, as host @BobBrooks_NMX aptly put it, essentially saying we shouldnāt have a country, which is what would basically happen without a border, immigration control, etc.
This is not what the American people want, as the latest Harvard-Harris poll shows 80% of Americans support removing illegals who have committed additional crimes while being here.

What makes the fraud in Minnesota even worse? It isnāt just that Walz and his administration AT BEST turned a blind eye to the fraud.
The worst part of this is most of the programs that were being defrauded were things like hospice care, helping kids with autism, etc.

Juneteenth marks the fulfillment of the promise set in motion by Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation.
As Abraham Lincoln declared, our fellow Americans would be "thenceforward, and forever free."
Today, we celebrate that freedom and recommit ourselves to preserving and expanding it.
Happy Juneteenth.
šØ New Episode: Winning Local Elections | Campaign Playbook for Municipal Races, Ballot Questions & Local Government
Political Trade Secrets: Join host @DustinOlson and guest Bill Rayāpolitical and public relations consultant and owner of WR Communicationsāas they pull back the curtain on how local elections are really won.
The episode explores:
⢠Why local elections are won by focusing on the basics: public safety, roads, quality of life, and the day-to-day issues voters actually feel
⢠How ballot questions are really foughtāand why translating legal language into clear, persuasive messaging can make or break a campaign
⢠What candidates need to understand about the actual job of local government before running for office
⢠How the decline of local journalism has changed the way voters learn about local issues, candidates, and campaigns
⢠Why social media, direct mail, short videos, and rapid response matter more than ever in local races
⢠What Spencer Pratt and the Los Angeles mayorās race reveal about the power of core local issues
⢠Why housing affordability, density, water, wildfire, and infrastructure are becoming some of the biggest local political fights in Colorado and beyond

If youāre a pollster like me, or just anyone who has followed elections closely for long enough, you know the trend that the party-out-of-power typically performs better in the midterms.
BUT, what usually comes with that is a significantly higher lead on the generic ballot, which Democrats do not have right now. In fact, if you compare it to previous cycles, like 2018, theyāre lagging well behind those wave years.
So, judging by what weāre seeing, this isnāt going to necessarily be a great Republican year, but itās not going to be as bad as historic trends might lead some to believe either.

šØ Pollster @DustinOlson: āRepublicans and President Trump still were beating Democrats by about six points on who voters trusted on the economy until this last poll, which had them up only two points. Now that [Gas Prices] are getting fixed, though, I think we're going to be back to 6+ points, and going into the fall, most of the issues benefit Republicans.ā
The polling on the economy in February showed all the economic numbers heading in the Republicanās direction. People were starting to feel the impact of President Trumpās policies.
Then, the war in Iran began, and those numbers took a downward turn.
But the Iran peace deal seems to be coming around just in the nick of time.
With oil already dropping to ~$80 per barrel, it seems some of the economic issues people are feeling could be a distant memory come November.

šØ Pollster @DustinOlson: āThe way the House districts are right now, there's not a lot that's in play, and traditionally Democrats have to lead the generic ballot by around 4 points to really start picking up seats.ā
Joined Finnerty on NEWSMAX to examine Harry Entenās CNN midterm polling analysis.
The key point: Democrats have a lead, but not a wave.
Back in February, economic sentiment was moving toward Republicans. It looked like voters could be feeling positive about the economy by May or June.
Then the Iran war hit. Gas prices jumped. Financial anxiety ratcheted up. The trend changed.
Even then, Trump and Republicans kept leading Democrats on trust to handle the economy in the Harvard-Harris poll, though the GOP edge tightened from 6 points to 2 in the newest poll.
Now, with an Iran deal announced and gas prices falling, the timing may matter. If voters feel better about the economy by September, Republicans could regain ground heading into the fall.
With todayās House map and an issue mix that favors Republicans, this may not be the apocalyptic midterm environment some expect.
Democrats want a midterm wave. Right now, they have a ripple.
Thanks @RobFinnertyUSA and @NEWSMAX for a great segment!
On NEWSMAXās Finnerty, we covered how the end of the Iran war and falling gas prices could reshape the midterms, especially with Democratsā generic-ballot lead lagging historic trends.
Before the war, economic sentiment was moving in the right direction for Republicans. Then the war hit, gas prices blunted the trend, and the GOPās advantage on the economy tightened. But if the Iran peace accords hold, Republicans could regain ground heading into the fall.
Americaās views of World Cup also came up. My read: the numbers are pretty clear on thisāit is a generational and cultural thing.
Numerator found 32% of U.S. consumers plan to watch at least some of the World Cup. Thatās a real audience, but nothing like the 69% for the Super Bowl.
Soccer isnāt really my thing, but Iām Gen X. For younger Americans, itās different: roughly 40% of Gen Z and Millennialsāas well as 54% of Hispanicsāplan to watch.
Bottom line: soccer is getting a small bump now, but will be much bigger in the future.
Thanks to @RobFinnertyUSA, @PSAllocco, and @NEWSMAX for the conversation!

Richard Gere says heās ādeeply ashamedā of the Trump Administration using the term illegal āaliensā.
OK. But when will celebrities realize most people donāt care what they have to say when it comes to politics?
In all seriousness, what he should be āashamedā of are the terrible human tragedies we saw on Bidenās Open Borderā¦now thatās something that was truly shameful.

šØ Pollster @DustinOlson: āPeople have wanted to see reforms to the FBI, this is a common feeling that people have, but I can guarantee you that if something were to happen, and it's because of the failure of FISA being continued, the public opinion will be very strong in the other direction.ā
For the first time since its inception, Section 702 of the FISA act has lapsed. Republicans have real reasons to want reformsāPresident Trump knows better than anyone what happens when surveillance power is abused.
Despite previous abuses, even against President Trump, letting it lapse while weāre hosting major national security eventsāAmerica 250 celebrations, the World Cup, etc.āis a dangerous game.
But this is the reality of narrow majorities: EVERYTHING becomes leverage.
Democrats blocked a clean three-week extension, applauded when it failed, and are once again using national security as a political hostage.
The public may want changeāour polling shows 55% want FBI reformsābut if something happens because Congress failed to act, there will be hell to pay.
