An Open Letter to @realDonaldTrump : Finish the Job!
Dear @POTUS ,
I write to you not as a critic, but as one of the millions who have loved you, defended you, and prayed for you. I stood with you when the press wanted you gone. I stood with you when your own party flinched. I stood with you through impeachments, indictments, and bullets. I am writing now precisely because I am on your side — and because the people who tell you only what you want to hear are not your friends.
I am a Persian Jew. My family knew Iran before the ayatollahs — a Persia of poetry, of Cyrus, of dignity, of Jews and Muslims who lived as neighbors. I do not hate the Iranian people. I love them. Eighty-some million of them are hostages, not enemies. My quarrel — and yours — is with the regime that has its boot on their throats: the theocracy and its enforcers in the IRGC.
And that is exactly why I must be blunt with you. A ceasefire with this regime is not peace. It is a pause they will use against you.
You broke their air force. You broke their navy. You exposed how hollow their threats always were. The whole world watched you do in days what others said could never be done. And now, at the decisive moment, they are at the table not to surrender — but to survive. They are dictating terms to the man who just defeated them. They reopened the Strait of Hormuz and then closed it again to remind you who they think is in charge. That is not the posture of the beaten. That is the posture of men who believe they have figured you out.
Mr. President, you wrote the book on this — literally. Never let them see you're desperate. The moment your opponent smells that you want the deal more than he does, the deal is already lost. Every ceasefire you offer, every extension you grant, every "60 more days," tells them the same thing: He'll blink. He always blinks. They are not negotiating. They are running out the clock — buying time to rebuild, to bury, to enrich, to rearm. A regime that has spent four decades cheating on every agreement it ever signed does not suddenly discover honesty when the bombs stop falling. Their signature has never once been worth the ink. Why would this time be different?
Look at the record, because the record is the only honest prophet. Forty-plus years. Not one agreement kept. Not one promise honored. American sailors humiliated. American soldiers killed by their proxies and their roadside bombs. Their own young people — kids whose only crime was wanting a normal country and bread they could afford — gunned down in the streets by the IRGC and buried without trials. Where is the justice for them? If a regime that murders its own children in cold blood tells you it will lay down its uranium out of goodwill, the only rational response is to laugh — and then to finish what you started.
Because here is the truth no one wants to say out loud: the only thing this regime fears is strength, and the only language it has ever respected is consequence. Appeasement doesn't buy peace from a tyrant. It buys you the next war on worse terms. Let them keep the capacity to build a weapon, and one day they will stand at a podium and threaten London or a Gulf capital — and on that day, no one will be able to touch them again. The window to act decisively is now, while they are on their knees. Not after they stand back up.
Mr. President, you want a legacy. You deserve one. But understand what the real legacy is. It is not a piece of paper signed by liars in Geneva. It is not a prize handed out by people who despise you. The legacy that outlives you is a Middle East where this regime no longer terrorizes its neighbors and its own people — where Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, and the Gulf join hands with Israel, where the Abraham Accords become the architecture of a new and prosperous region. That peace — real peace — only becomes possible on the far side of the IRGC. You are the one man on earth positioned to deliver it. History handed you the moment. Don't trade it away for the illusion of a handshake.
You have stared down four attempts on your life and you are still standing. You were not spared for a paper deal. You were spared to finish the job.
So I ask you, with respect and with everything in me: Don't blink. Don't settle. Don't let them out of the corner you put them in. Stand with the captive Iranian people, not their captors. Stand for the thousands they murdered. Stand for every American they've buried. Finish what you started — and let the world remember you as the president who had the courage to end it.
The man who began this is the only man who can end it. That man is you.
With unwavering respect and prayers for your strength.
@JesseBWatters Don’t talk to people the way Democrats do. We’re not stupid or uninformed. That attitude will come back to haunt Republicans, which would be terrible for the country.
@PressSec Dear President Trump,
Respectfully, if Americans wanted Barack Obamas deal with Iran we would have voted for Kamala Harris and not you.
Sincerely,
Trump Voters
JD Vance repeatedly insisted that certain details about the deal were disinformation pushed by the Islamic Republic. In reality, virtually everything he labeled as Iranian disinformation turned out to be accurate.
You can’t dodge accountability by dismissing everyone as an “op.” You are alienating longtime allies who have stood by the administration through thick and thin.
PS: If I get suspended after this post, goodbye everyone ✋🏼
Apparently anyone calling out JD Vance humiliating the US by pushing the worst surrender deal ever is being accused of being part of a "foreign influencer op" and being banned from X
Let's see how long I last 😂
Am I allowed to point out how bad it looks to have Qatar seemingly watching over JD Vance's shoulder as he types, or will I also get banned for being anti-MOU?
Iran can now sell oil. China buys more of Iran’s oil than any country. Upwards of 90%. They will be thrilled. What are the safeguards to prevent the Iranian regime from using the money to rebuild its war machine? I see none. Does that concern anybody? And please don’t blame Israel. We’re doing this with our Qatari and Pakistani friends.
Put your teeth back in your mouth, have a cup of tea, then go back to bed, Neville. Your country is being destroyed by Islamists and you’re focused on Netanyahu and Israel to promote your measly little podcast. Mind rot.
Many of us were ready to vote Republican in the midterms because we believed that party understood this regime better than the Democrats. Now Republican leaders, including @JDVance need to hear clearly that selling this memorandum as acceptable will cost them trust and enthusiasm in our community, even if we still prefer them over the alternative. @marklevinshow
