PERSPECTIVE: Since January 2022, @Tesla has had 21 "recalls" for 4,132,303 cars (some counted multiple times). 99% of those cars were fixed using a software update that didn’t require customers to go to a dealership or replace parts.
Meanwhile, Fiat-Chrysler, Kia, Hyundai, VW & BMW had no software fixes. Ford, Nissan, GM & Mercedes fixed 1%, 2%, 32% and 17%, respectively, of their recalled cars with software updates.
Like @elonmusk said, the word ‘recall’ for an over-the-air software update is anachronistic, plain wrong and contributes to negative and misleading headlines.
Looking forward to Tesla Investor Day on March 1.
By this, we mean the broadest definition of investor, as in the people & life of Earth.
It will be a message of good hope & positivity for the future.
